Hellstrom Provings
Word spreads throughout Sundren of the next Hellstrom provings; a gladiatorial ring where all are welcome to attempt to compete, from the lowest peasant to the greatest knight. It will take place a week from the day of the first posting. Further details can be found at the proving grounds themselves, where under Blackwood watch a large poster, decorated with fine painted patterns is plainly displayed.
Champions and citizens of Sundren,
The quiet of the passing season and the political tensions have weighed heavily on all of you, and thus the Hellstrom family invite those champions willing to participate to another provings tournament. We will be awarding every victory in the provings, with greater rewards for successive victories, though the greatest of these will be awarded to those warriors who make it through to the end.
The tournament will be team based and use a system of accumulated points to determine the greatest of the participants. A point is awarded for participation in a round, two points for a victory, and three points for a crushing victory*. From there the greatest three teams will be selected and moved on to the final rounds, where each team will fight the others once more, to determine the final rankings and the grand champions.
*-A crushing victory is attained from both team members remaining conscious throughout a duel.
Rules;
~Leaving the arena is immediate grounds for a teams disqualification, the ethereal plane is not a part of the arena.
~Equipment will be issued by Hellstrom for the tournament to be used at the tournament grounds. All participants will be stripped of any gear, items, trinkets, or otherwise before entering.
~Participants will be allowed one magical boon per team mate before each battle takes place.
~A team member who at any point is rendered unconscious is no longer an active participant in the battle, if revived they are to escort themselves to the rings edge.
~Failure for a team mate to show up within ten minutes of their appointed match time is grounds for disqualification.
--Duelists Tournament--
Similarly to the main event will be a duelists tournament that will pit individuals against one another in single combat. The Duelists tournament follows the same layout and rules to the pairings. Awards will be given out at the end of each round, successive victories again garnering greater rewards. A crushing victory will be meted out to individuals who manage to go through a round without receiving crippling injuries.*
*-Going below half health.
--Monstrous Fights--
During intermissions and between battles Hellstrom will entertain the participants and onlookers with fights orchestrated between exotic and powerful monsters and animals from across the continent of Faerun. Expect bloody and intense bouts of entertainment.
--Grand Melee--
For those not confident yet in their ability to hold their own against the mightiest wizards or the greatest champions. The Grand melee will be a single round free for all, where those who last longest will be awarded accordingly. Rules for the Grand Melee do not differ from the pairings tournament with exception to one rule.
~Any man caught assisting another will find themselves disqualified from any prize.

Applications for entering in the pairings or the dueling tournament should be PM'd directly to me with the names of both characters and each of their levels. Trying to pair yourself with someone of similar level in the case of the former makes it much easier for me to make fair match ups in the preliminaries.
Applications for the Grand melee are only for characters level 10 and below, this is an OOC staple I'm enforcing to allow newer players a chance to participate without getting squashed by higher levels.
The single boon is a single spell buff you're permitted to cast before a fight begins, characters will be allowed one per caster.
Characters are perfectly allowed to enter both the duelist and the team tournament, as they won't be ran simultaneously.
The event will take place next Saturday SATURDAY SATURDAY, August 14th, only at the Thunderd- Hellstrom Proving grounds, off the crossroads. Starting at 4pm PST. BE THERE.
