Samson Lightbringer sits cross legged atop the swaying deck of the merchant ship Allestra, meditating and waiting for the dawn to break. As he sits, he contemplates what brought about this sudden travel.
It was mere weeks ago that a letter had reached the Dawnbringers at the temple of Evenstar. The letter promised much, a new temple, a new congregation, a chance to right wrongs and put things to right.
The letter had come from a Lathandarite Sacred Fist by the name of Cesar. It discussed the trials of a place called Sundren and how Vampires and Undead had gained a strong foothold. It also discussed the possibility of building a church and helping Sundren push back the evil that had encompassed its lands.
Of course, Samson had heard of the letter, but did not even dream he would be the one sent to solidify the word to the people of Sundren.
Was it only days ago that the Dawnbringer had called him in and announced their choice? Was it mere days ago that he was designated a Dawnbringer, given his sword, his shield, and the Silver and Gold symbol of his faith?
Samson looks to the horizon and gasps, as yet again another beautiful sunrise appears over the horizon. He breaths in deep, then smiles.
