Daemonika Stormwind
Far across the Sea of Swords, in the secluded isle of Evermeet, live the purest of elves. They were prosperous and fought battles to preserve their lands and culture. Though near perfect of a society that consisted only elven kin, some grew apart with time and struggle between differences of lineage and ways of life.
In a small town within the capital city of Leuthilspar, lived a beautiful elven girl with a vision. She was adventurous and eager to learn everything she came in contact with. Her eyes were the brightest of gold and her long shimmering hair was as spectral as the sun. Her skin was youthful and fair if not exclusive to others in comparison. Her exotic looks and charismatic nature were exceptional for a mere sun elf. It was not long that she caught the eye of an elder sage seeing a gift within her. She was clever and curious, she was about to embark in a world that change her life forever.
Under the confident wing of the elder sage she began her apprenticeship in the arcane arts. She grew up to become the highest of her class. She had shown remarkable qualities in the school of evocation. Until one night she had found something that would peak her curious nature. The elder sage had kept in his private library in his study a unique book separate from the others. It was encased and locked away for his eyes only. She attempted to open the casing with a simple knock spell, but to her disappointment the magical ward was far too great for her efforts. The casing had a complex lock that would require a unique key.
For months she watched the elder sage enter his study and waited for any clue as to how he gave access to this particular book. One night he entered his study researching a mishap that involved a nearby mausoleum. Observing the elder sage, she saw him use his walking staff to open the casing. The staff would transmute to a small runic key, dropping the ward that held the case shut from others.
The elder sage eventually returned the book and closed the case securely, but negligently left his walking staff next to his chair before retiring to his private quarters. Luck and opportunity called to her, and she used the walking staff as he did to open the case. Soon the tome was in her possession.
Over weeks she had studied the pages within the book and took notes, copying everything she could so that she did not have to keep coming back for references. She became fascinated and near obsessed with the knowledge that was within this mysterious tome. Her relentlessness only made her clumsy. It was not long that the elder sage noticed a pattern in her behavior.
The elder sage was able to catch her in the act of taking the book once again and snatched it away. He reprimanded her for her carelessness and deceptive actions and forbade her from ever entering his private study ever again. The book was never found from that day forward.
She became bitter and impatient wanting to know more and she fell deeper into the interests of the book she had read. Fortunately for her, she had still her notes. There was one spell in particular that was difficult to perform. She tried numerous times to cast it till one night she succeeded but with disastrous results.
Her ignorance had taken its toll and started to alter her frail body. Spiritual entities from unknown origins inhabited her and drove her to do things she would not normally do. Her hair had turned jet black and her eyes faded to a shimmering emerald glow. What was once a beautiful gold skin was now a paler shade of yellow. Her peers started to notice these changes and the elder sage did all he could to help his uncontrollable student. He had no choice than to expel her from his mentorship. He believed that if he avoided further teachings he would save her from any more damage to herself and others.
This weighed heavy on her and saddened by rejection, she departed from her homeland in hopes to find progress elsewhere in the mainland. It was a long and exhausting journey and the corruption she had endured did not help her either.
When she reached the mainland she found passage through the vast lands on a caravan. Upon reaching the borders of Sundren territory the caravan had broken down, leaving her to find shelter amongst the locals. What purpose and destiny she had from here on was yet to be discovered.
This is the story of Daemonika Stormwind, Exiled Sun Elf Mage of Evermeet.
