"Throughout my life, I've often wondered...

.. when will I wake from this dream?

.. Did I create this dream?

.. Or did it create me?"

    - Journal entry, Icharus Vitarri, Age 13

Every few hundred years, the realm of Faerun experiences an event event even rarer than the sighting of the legendary Elminster; the birth of an Aasimar. Such offspring are truly the gift of a celestial benevolence; many exemplify the very ideals they revere. Nearly twenty-five years ago, an event as this came to pass. Icharus Vitarri, an angelic combination of Sun Elf and celestial heritage, drew his first breath at the light of dawn; the heavens would smile upon the young babe that day.

… but such smiles are fleeting, perhaps even fickle . . .

The birth of the one known as Icharus Vitarri is an unfortunate mess, compared to the normal standards of which most humanoids are brought into this marvelous and intricate world we inhabit.

Icharus' mother, a well-known Sun Elf gossiper in the city of Silverymoon, was quite undeserving of the title. Muddled and entwined heavily in her own beauty, ego, and desire for materialistic wealth, Icharus' mother was often found 'throwing' herself at the wealthiest humanoid in proximity - regardless of race. Her rather.. promiscuous behavior was often the topic of choice by her peers throughout their particular neighborhood within the city, supplementing Icharus' mother's fear of ridicule, despite her approach to wealth.

It was only a matter of time before meanderings with wealthy men would result in a child, whether planned or not. Unfortunately, the poor resulting child known as Icharus was deemed a mistake by his mother.

The stigmata that would plague Icharus during the most of his initial years into the realm of the living even perpetrated against him from his own mother - She viewed her child as something undesirable, a demon-child of bad omen. In a preemptive move against those who would spew hateful and demeaning speech against her due to the irregular child, Icharus' mother made the only decent move in her entire 'career' of a mother - she left her child at the doorstep of a nearby orphanage.

It was for the first decade of his life, Icharus grew to accept the houndings and insecure insults from the normal children around him. Even the attendants and assistants of the orphanage paid Icharus no respect - leaving the poor boy to find comfort in the solace of reading by himself. When not reading, Icharus was sometimes seen in the company of two other outcast children - often known to cause trouble within the establishment, and understandably so, considering their treatment.

It was towards the end of that decade that Icharus and his two outcast comrades had planned their most courageous scheme ever - a local bazaar shop carried a very exquisite-looking and expensive glaur, a short curved horn resembling a cornucopia fitted with valves, sounding like a trumpet played in high wind. The three children planned on stealing the instrument, utilizing their orphan status to get away with the crime...
