I knew it!
I've always known I was destined for greatness and finally I have utter conformation!
Last night, whilst out with Vett and Kesh I had a most unexpected encounter. We were making our way from the Battered Spoon to the Purple Knight when I was accosted by a figure.
The man appeared from the shadows in a puff of smoke, wearing ornate and dramatic robes, he hauled me into an alley before I could scream and slapped me hard.
The figure before me was myself, but from the future. The slap, which my future self made great pains to emphasise quite how much I needed, had been an encouragement to pull my finger out and not waste my life. He, or rather I, explained that the rules of time travel meant he could tell me little about the life I was destined to lead, however I could take certain lessons and hints that would ensure I would have the money, fame and power that was clearly my destiny.
First, I was immortal. So far. Being alive in the future to come back and set myself upon my destined path clearly meant that no matter what happens I cannot die.
Second, I must study magic, because in the future battles are not fought with sword and shield but with minds and things called eye-lasers.
Third, I must sell every item I own, and invest the money gained in a shipping company called 'Redways Clippers'. This was apparently extremely important as in the year 1389 Redways would be a global concern and my investment would result in a return in the dozens of millions.
Fourth, I must make my way overland to a place in the far North called 'Sundren' on the route I would face many dangers, which would not kill me due to my obvious immortality. In Sundren I would become a great mage, a great warrior and, apparently, one of the worlds greatest lovers.
At this point my future self looked concerned, apparently he had already told me to much and was afraid that his enemies might find us. He pushed me back onto the main street and wished me good luck. We would not meet again, although I am destined to become him.
Today I have sold everything and explained what I could to my loving parents and siblings, they do not understand, but I know I would never lie to myself. This journey must be begun.
