One late night at the Four Lanterns scribblings of a quill can be heard down the dark corridors of the inn, the only light being that of the moonlight through the windows and the road lamps from outside.
In a room across the corridor from the staircase that leads to the ground floor sits a lonely figure at a desk which is only illuminated by a single candle light, the figure continues to scribble down words in a large book with a stonehewn cover.
Day CCCCXLIIII.
Even though it has been close to a year since i last were in this valley i can now see that things have gotten completly out of control in my absence, Luskans bleeding the valley dry of its economy, the Veritas eventhough i have not heard anything about them since i got back have still not been defeated, the Bloodmaim orcs are still a constant threat, and these are but a few of the problems that lie ahead in these dark times.
My constant worries have been to ease with the news that my Kinsmen are still alive and have sworn the Oath to Eriak Brittlbeard of Whurest, although it saddens me that the banner of the Cleavers must be put to rest again it comforts me to know that the spirit in which it was intended lives on amongst the frozen peaks of Cold Climb.
The Exigo trading post, once a hub of trade of goods of all kinds with merchants coming and going all the time barely even sees a living soul these days, the stands are almost devoid of goods and many of the clients that the exigo used to service are nowhere to be seen, all of this because of the Blockade, and with reports of those pesky Wardens still ambushing and killing Exigo miners and woodcutters i am surprised the Blackwood company havnt purged the entire forest of life, the Valley desperately need the resources that Viridale can provide.
Probably most disheartning of all is the sight i saw when i visited Sestra again, even after all its been through there seem to be no end to the pains that are being inflicted on the people there, yet there are still glimmers of hope and chances for renewal respite and this comforts me and reminds me of why i keep doing what i do.
For if the current path of actions continue there wont be any Sundren left by the end.
