*Cesar places a bit of wool cloth on the ground to provide some insulation against the wind packed snow. Settling into a lotus position a few meters off the trail atop the Spine, Cesar concentrates on the slow and rhythmic beating of his heart, slowly pushing the bite of the bitter cold from his mind.*
Cesar Del Sol has been spending the last few days at his room in Grizzly's Embrace venturing outside for several hours at a time to meditate. It is his belief that life provides whatever experience is most helpful in expanding his wisdom and evolving his consciousness.
*As Cesar's breathing slows and his mind closes itself to the bitter cold, he enters a state of inner peace. With absolute clarity he begins to ponder the source of his optimism.*
Only a few days earlier, Cesar Del Sol met "Emiliana Blackwell," a seamstress and tailor. During the course of their business, "Emmi" asked Cesar how he could remain so optimistic in the face of everything happening in Sundren? Cesar took to his winter retreat to ponder the question.
*Concentrating... Cesar's breathing continues to slow and his mind focuses on the word "optimism..." Cesar begins to repeat the phrase "hopefulness and confidence about the future..." over and again in his mind*
Cesar Del Sol, like all of those who worship Lathander, has a tendency to take a hopeful view of the future. But the question lingered... how could one remain optimistic in these times? It was true that Vampires lived amongst us, and the Lord of Bones walked this plane, and the Luskan barricade tightened the noose around every merchant's neck...
*Concentrating... Cesar repeats "hopeful, confident, future..." "hopeful, confident, future..." over and again in his mind*
*With absolute clearness of mind, Cesar begins to regain his full faculties while thinking "under no pretense should one allow his or her mind to dwell on any thought that is not positive, constructive, or kind..." The power of this thought forces opens his eyes as he repeats aloud... "I am optimistic and confident in all that I do. I affirm only the best for myself and others. I am the creator of my life and my world. I meet daily challenges gracefully and with complete confidence. I am optimistic because I choose to be!”
*Satisfied, Cesar slowly and gracefully stands and collects the bit of wool cloth. Returning to the trail, he walks back to Grizzly's Embrace smiling*
