Hold returns to the Red Blades HQ and starts righting his report.
yesterday as the sun rose it was my honour to escort the lady Aryanna Icari of Trom, sadly our intended task dint not come to pass as we happened upon a dire event.
the Gnolls had taken a small number of prisoners to there fort and began some right or ritual of summoning, this involved removing 4 victims hearts and tossing it into a portal. naturally we attacked and in there distraction Lady Aryanna cut down there dark shaman as i held off the lesser flock. this did not close the portal as hopped and a small number of dog like critters came out and had to be fended off.
With some searching the lady Aryanna found the blade used for the dark summoning and i the scroll upon what I believe was the instructions written in some unknown language. it was then we was set upon my a large number of spiders, though it pains me to admit we would have fell there if not for another, he attacked the swarm from behind and scattered them. It was then we learned to close the portal we needed the removed hearts from inside, i was the first to enter and be confronted by three gigantic wormlike beasts, the keepers of the hearts as it would turned out, the Lady Aryanna was assigned the duty of finding the missing hearts as myself and Edward stalled the worms as long as we could before fending them off whilst she worked, or so was out intended plan but sadly Edward chosen to insult the beast into attacking as soon as possible lessening the time lady Aryanna had for her search, so intent was he for blood that we learned not the reason for why the beasts wished the portal opened or the correct manner to close it, this would not be the last time his bloodlust would case problems.
upon finding three of the hearts, one for each of us, myself and the lady Aryanna quickly returned by the portal in order to close it safely from the other side, but alas once again the mindless bloodlust that seems to drive Edward cased him to charge blindly at a greater daemon and put our task at risk for without the heart he carried the portal could not be closed. Luck was us though as the daemon batted him out of the portal and allowed us to close it with but a few boasts from the daemon.
