  • Black Dog Prophet

A crow cautiously hops along a long branch moving towards a figure hanging from the same branch. Dropping from the branch to the shoulder of the small form the crow tentatively pecks at it's ear.

The figure jerks and falls into the arms of a lithe elven figure, the rope holding it cut from the tree. Lowering the figure, a hin, to the ground, Caldor carefully inspects the fatally wounded halfling.

Removing a piece of parchment from the hin's mouth Caldor tosses the body over his shoulder muttering, "There may be hope for you yet small one..."

As he tracks back to the city Caldor opens the note carefully reading the following...

"Walk with hate, spread fear and embrace power. I am Black Dog Prophet."

Folding the note again he continues his travel back to town and to leave the body of the hin in the care of his church for better or worse.
"That which you cannot interdict, you incapacitate."

His consciousness seeps back slowly joining his soul in the body of the hin. As if under water the murmuring comes to his ears. "He will never make it..." and "the wound so severe.."

The 'hin' Erec slowly recovers his senses surrounded by robed priests. As his eyes clear he recognises his surroundings as that of the Church of Tyr. Trying to sit up Erec is swept under waves of throbbing pain as the priests ease him back to a prone position.

"The bridge..." his dry mouth utters. "Emeralds..." he also manages before the darkness of sleep over takes him.

Days later as he prepares to leave the church Erec is shown the note which accompanied his body back to the sanctuary. "Black Dog Prophet?" he thoughtfully strokes his chin. "I guess my attacker left me a clue to help find him."

Slipping his shield across his back and adjusting his sword he turns and heads out of the temple. The soft music of a bards lute plays as he travels down the street.
"That which you cannot interdict, you incapacitate."
