Not a particulary new concept. If you advance your dashing swasbuckler style a bit, it might become better.

Yep. Give him a few quirks. A bit of his own personality other than the stereotypical. And a bit of history. And, ta da! Any character that lives in the shades of grey between do-gooder and all out evil, gains +1 favour from me. I just dig that sort of thing, and they're fun to roleplay.
