One evening late, Bassman met a man who offered him 10,000 stags to make a so called "simple delivery" up on Cold Climb near the spine. He knew it sounded to good to be true, but the inticement of instant riches was to much to resist, and accepted the task. With his suspicions in mind he made his final preparations with the possibility of never returning foremost in his mind. And contacted his friend Harik to give him instructions in the event he didn't return. Bassman gave Harik several personal items he felt he wouldnt need for this trip. And gave Harik instructions on who to give each item to in the event he did not return. So there he was with his affairs in order walking up Cold Climb by himself, or so he thought. Then all of the sudden. Darkness! The next thing he remembers he wakes, strapped to a table, and no one around. He struggled for hours, trying to free himself, thinking that any moment someone would walk in and continue to do whatever dasterdly things they were doing to him. But no one ever did. And finally he was able to free a hand just enough to get free. After many hours of wandering this very large complex he found what he thought was an exit, a door. After entering this doorway he found himself lost in a cave, and there he wandered for weeks surviving on only rats and bugs to eat. Its amazing what a person will learn to eat when faced with complete starvation, and he learned this lesson very quickly because there was very few of these available. He noticed quite quickly on how the farther he walked the colder it got. Until finally nearly frozen and starved to death he collapses and blacks out. And awakens at the crossroads with Harik kneeling over him with no idea on how he got there. Apparently Harik had been searching for him since he left, and was the only one who hadn't given him up for dead including Arawen. Apparently Harik had found him inside a cave on Cold Climb near the exit, Near frozen, and near dead! Brought him to the Crossroads. And when Bassman awoke he saw Harik and Arawen. But something was different Arawen seemed distant for some reason. which he wouldnt find out why until later.
