Syne enters the Exigo Trading post after her walk through The Gates of Sundern. As she approaches the fire pit she notices Mer lying on the bench.
She approaches him and says, "Your vulnerable like that."
His response to her Jibe was to move his hand and reveal that he had his Short sword handy. Noding she pokes him in the side with one of her shuriken close to a kidney and says with a smile in her voice, " that sword of yours wouldn't get out fast enough." Merrily he asks who would attempt to end his life? Tilting her head in thought she tells him some one tall and deceiptful. Smiling he names Alex as one that would try. Nodding she agrees, and then askes him if he had thought on their conversation earlier, nodding he states that he has no firm attachment to the Diety Leira, and that he would be more then willing to part from her company. Smiling she tells him she must contact her superiors first and then she would let him know. That is when a thought struck her. She remembered as a child her father making a traveler make an oath with a drop of his blood on his tongue and the pain the man was in, and later how her father had explained that it was a type of blood oath that only a more powerful Mage could break. She doesn't tell Mer of her sorceress blood and asks him to make the blood oath. Agreeing to do so She Pulls out a shuriken and pricks a finger and hands him the bloody shuriken. Taking it he asks if all he has to do is take the red liquid into his mouth. Telling him he must also repeat the oath she supplies for him she nods. Nodding he takes the shuriken carefully into his mouth so as not to cut his tongue as he licks the blood off, he then says the oath.
" I swear..... to be loyal as the apprentice of Syne Jonel, and to never cause harm to her..... directly or indirectly."
After the words finish leaving his tongue a feeling of warmth and of electricity spreads through his body causing him to fall to his knee. On his knee he struggles to remain still and endure the pain as she smiles and places a hand on his head and speaks in their native language, " Ayo ehi ryz tiwirsicimm ekeumd li......... pod em cyrk em ayo ty em u mea ayo mnecc wurt ry nehl .......... ty ayo ekhii? ( translation: You are now defenceless against me........ but as long as you do as I say you shall find no harm ........... do you agree?)
Nodding and saying he agreed she removed her hand releasing him from his paralyze.
