Squads of six soldiers are sent out through the city. There is purpose in their gait.
Those who tail these squads would see them march into the residential districts--from noble to slum. They go straight to specific houses and bang on the doors.
The men--mostly humans--who answer the knocks are read something from a paper. Some words about "questioning" and "registration" can be heard. Some of the men agree and step out, coming with the soldiers quietly. Others argue angrily, but come along anyway. A few try to deceive or flee from the soldiers--a mistake that proved fatal in one unfortunate instance.
The men and women are taken into custody at the city guard. From there, only the Legion know what is transpiring.
