    Between Belief and Duty:

"I have bound my hands with fine wire and relinquished my fortunes for naught.
Thrice wept before my council with pleas to forgive what my duty had wrought.

I have sacrificed my share of innocent and watched as my sins surmount...
Yet I have saved the lives of many - many more than a scholar could count.

I have been guided to do what I have been taught was right.
Forgetting my scriptures, my path to divine light.

But my sins will still haunt me, feel me with dread.
Yet I know I'll be forgiven, long before I'm dead.

For the guidance I have received, though man had often swayed,
Is the guidance of Illmater, who will forever lead my way.

My Crying God, with his broken wings, remains to carry the weight
of all his subjects down below who suffer from ill fate.

Even after the battles are over, still soaring he will be...
Still serving, I'll willingly follow - his will still guiding me."

"There will come trials throughout life where one must make difficult decisions. Decisions where a choice must be made between the law and ones own beliefs. These, often times maddening, decisions will either be the chisel that delicately shapes a believer into a devout follower - or the hammer that breaks them down, forcing them to decide what is more important."

"Though, regardless of which path was followed, all who so wish are welcome to return to our doorstep. You will never be turned away, and you will never be forgotten; your valiant efforts shall never be frowned upon - even in failure."

*Vala smiles and nods slightly to the listening patrons as she turns to leave; following a path in through to the back of The House of the Broken God where she services the sick in Keltar of Calimshan."
