While the narrator fell into repeat of his lines a little too much for my tastes, that was definitely worth watching. Think I'll go see it once a week

Yeah, the black egg-part was interesting. Something I really hadn't heard of before.

I think if the ninja could choose all the circumstances he'd have come out on top. Of course, the show takes a level playing field so that the weapon effectiveness of one against another can actually be tested, rather than the 'kill him in his sleep' approach. As the name implies: deadliest warrior. And large shields are just king when it comes to close combat.

I'm curious how the knight vs. pirate thing will go (I think that's what I heard from the preview movie of the next..). If the former wears too little armor, the pirate can win simply with mobility. Running around and refilling his (highly inaccurate) pistol until he hits. In full armor, those relatively low-impact bullets are just going to bruise the knight badly but they won't kill him. And a cutlass won't do much either. Maybe a cannon.. but I just don't think that's going to happen lol. On the other hand, the pirate will never have to let the knight get close enough to do anything to him. And if the knight takes out a crossbow or some other ranged weapon, the time it takes to draw a new weapon will hamper his defenses significantly. It also depends on what age pirate we're talking. By the 17th-18th century firearms were strong enough to pierce any shields and metal armor. Then it'd be no contest.
