  • Server version problem

I just had to re-install NWN2 all over.

I re-installed the original game and then mask of the betrayer and storm of zehir and then ran updates but it wouldn't download the updates and said there was some error retrieving patches due to some files being missing or something.

I read up on this and basically you have to run the updater after installing NWN2 and then again after installing MoTB and then again after SoZ.

Fine, I deleted the game and did this.

I also defragged the computer each time to keep every thing nice and tight and tidy.
The game runs real fast from doing that I have found and it makes loading times better.

Now I have a problem where if I go into multiplayer, nearly every server shows up as grey.

When i try and log onto Sundren I get this messege.

    Connection Error:
Client and server versions do not match.

There hasn't been a newer update for NWN2 come out recently has there?
I thought Sundren was running on the latest?

    My game version reads as:

    Version 1.022 (1587) (Final) FEB 16 2009 - 16:49:53

    Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry if this should be in the help forums but I do not believe it is a problem with Sundren as such and just my game installation or settings.

I also have no idea why when I post, the whole messege bunches up so that there are no gaps between paragraphs and sentances.

Sorry if this is a pig to read.

[Edit] Fixed this now. Some security setting stuff to do with cookies.

I've just looked at server detail when in gamespy and it says nothing more than server version: 1549

I assume this corresponds to the (1587) bit of my game version information.

Only question is, how to I get my game version back to 1549?

You would have to manually download the patches I believe to upgrade to the new version.

A new NWN2 patch was released here: http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view....Detail&id=212

It is a possiblity we may update it this weekend, but don't count on it.

All I did was run update and I'm at the newest version.

There are like 2-3 servers showing up in white for me on gamespy at the moment.

I've got my folks visiting so I just won't play until you update it... if time goes on i might have to wipe and re-install and be aware of which patches to install.

What is the final patch number for sundren? Does anyone know?

I.E. the one before this latest one.

[EDIT] No worries, I did my homework, It should be: nwn2_pc_english_1211549

It's just a case of re-installing and hitting cancel on the update after this one is installed and whilst it is searching for the next one.

Difficult I know but I did this before and it was fine.

User interface files still seem to be giving problems with the updater. You can freely remove the container.xml file again as stated in earlier bug reports posts. Other changes will be put up ASAP.

                          NOOOOOO!

I just spent all last night and left things running whilst i was sleeping just to get it all back to the version you were on before.

I wake up and it's all finished and then find out you updated.

                          Phooey!

                          I'm going to work!

Ok officially what patch are we looking at. If I get this wrong it will be the 3rd night of re-installing and updating that I have had to do.

I might just bin NWN2 if I have to go through this 1 more time.

Why do we need to download it from the IGN NWN2 Vault site? Can we not just run the updater and end up with version 1.22.1587? As I did before?

Is that not the version we need?

Or out of all these patches:

                            nwn2_pcx2_modfix_nx1_from1211549_to1221587.zip
                            nwn2_pcx1_english_from1211549_to1221586.zip
                            nwn2_pcx1_english_from1221586_to1221587.zip
                            nwn2_pcx2_english_from1211549_to1221586.zip
                            nwn2_pcx2_english_from1221586_to1221587.zip
                            nwn2_pc_english_from1221586_to1221587.zip
                            nwn2_pc_english_from1211549_to1221586.zip
