Alright seeing the topic about lack of evil. I figured a new topic with an intresting idea.

Goodies post the nemesis you want, and perhaps another player take the role. Discussion between both parties if the charactor who is the nemesis will eventually die so Good triumps.

Evil can get the same, with the same idea.

Basically charactors built to extend plots or add a bit of flavor.

Perhaps another idea is if Evil over takes a part of a town and through events are removed. That group could be another bunch of expendable evil PC's.

so? what ya need? what ya think etc?

One of the best Lawful Evil performances I have seen was on my previous NWN PW. In his guise as a player our head DM ran a Lawful Evil wizard who eventually became one of the most powerful representatives of the government, and worked constantly to bring the state around to a classic LE. Ordinances for various species to have to register with the government, bills and movements to curtail citizens' rights and increase the power of the government, and zero-tolerance law enforcement with brutal suppression of dissident groups.

What made him a great PC villain was that he was legal---LAWFUL evil, working within the government machine, and the only way to defeat him was with RP methods, not just beating him down.
"If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle." -- Frederick Douglass

The Temple of Umberlee is the most visible fixture representing an evil faith. Make clerics of Umberlee and that faith might suddenly gain a lot in power and influence, not to mention the town where they are based have a healthy fear-inspired respect of Umberlites. Capitalize on that!

Though I believe a core element of clerics is needed to make that work, plenty of other characters can then orbit around that, from Fury Druid worshipers of Umberlee to pirates-inspired rogues/fighter/rangers/barbarians.

Besides, more stuff happening in Port Avanthyr could be good.

The Hand of Mundus, if I remember correctly, is lawful evil? And they work directly for the government.

        • Crom - Priest of Gorm

Hands of Mundus is a lawful organization. They have two different "houses / towers" with two very different philosophies on magic and law, based on their interpretations of mandates laid down by Mundus himself prior to his death.

er...*scratches head* not what I had in mind...umm.

The idea I had was folks of GOOD or evil alignment would post a charactor to attempt to thwart or annoy their own. Basically like a player run event, with two players having already ideas of a story to play out. And if needed the new charactor would perish, though it would all be discussed between the two. Kinda like a wanted post.

            Wanted:

Good Ranger- to be a nemesis to my Necromancer gnome who is raising an undead army of werebadgers.

Evil bounty hunter - My CG rogue/swashbuckler has done their best to do the right thing but its time their jaded past catches up. The hunter is here for their head and a few items stolen from the town they are from.

are a few examples of what I was thinking.

Keep it OT please, if this thread becomes an extension of the other one I'll be locking it. We have quite enough lengthy ranting on this subject going on already.

Leckith's nemesis existed - Nocte. Now he's dead though so any powerful Banite would fit the bill. He hates Banites with a holy passion, so I suppose his ultimate hate would be someone like Aeon Darkhope used to be. Fortunately for him, there are plenty of Banites around to kill ^^

                Nemesis... Hmm..

For Eira it'd probably be a Flamehair Sunite paladin (for the Sune/Auril lore) or a Chaotic Good lunatic who thinks it's a good idea to off people before they have a chance to do huge amounts of damage - It's all for the Greater Good.

Alex - Not sure what form his nemesis would take; probably some insect hating, construct despising mage. Or a member of the trade family his Fiancé was in before she got smeared.

Karsten - Ideally his nemesis would be similar to him; an intelligent noble who can thwart his plans and gloat with the best of them after doing so.
                Eira Skald - Icy bitch.
Karsten Mannerheim - Idealist and murderer.
Vincent Hopkins - Witch Hunter and man of faith.
Aedan Gilter - Dreamer of broken dreams.
Henry L. Jones - Oh god, I can see forever.

Aliria is usually ready to brawl anybody, but she hates orcs of all kind and upstart farmers who think they are tough and strong. You know who you are.

folks are using this topic like I hoped.

Shiv shadowsong - and overly helpful, nice, caring, and forgiving cleric/paladin. Who sees the darkness in his heart yet tries to crupt him to good. Perhaps in time saves his life to really urk him.

Corvus hates the Human laws that have put in jail twice. So, I would have to say some of the more law abiding Legionaires would be his nemesis. And since they just locked up Andy (Amenia) again, lets just say the law in general.
