You should try a pureblood swashbuckler (5)/favored soul of Ilmater (8)/duelist (7)/sacred fist (10). Completely stupid combination in terms of logic, but that allows for some crazy defense and hand to hand goodness
This is considering SoZ available equipment, by the by.

    In the end you get:
    - Str 8 (14 buffed), Dex 26 (32 item), Con 10 (16 buffed), Int 16 (22 buffed), Wis 16 (22 buffed), Cha 18
    - 1d10 fists
    - damage bonus on strength (buff) and int
    - +8 damage from ability scores
    - sacred flame +16 damage for 2 minutes per rest
    - Precise Strike +1d6
    - Flourish +2d6
    - Weapon Finesse (free)
    - Full BAB progress using Divine Power, approximately 45 total as an educated guess (30 from levels, 11 from dex, rest from feats and spells)
    - Improved Unarmed Strike (free)
    - Weapon Focus(Unarmed) (free)
    - 16 levels of FS spellcasting (8th level spells)
    - A couple of weird yuan-ti spells
    - Alertness (free)
    - Blindfight (free)
    - Spell resistance 41
    - Energy resistance (any one) 10
    - AC bonus on dex (item), int (buff/item) and wisdom (buff)
    - 10+1(yuan-ti)+3(sacred fist)+1(swashbuckler dodge)+23(stats)+1(luck of heroes feat)+1(epic armor feat)+5 armor(magic vestment)+5 defl(shield of faith)+5 natural(barkskin from a companion)+3 dodge(or whatever you can get on your boots) = 58 AC (59 against target subject to Dodge, 64/65 with improved combat expertise up)
    - Uncanny dodge
    - around 400 hp with buffs and gear
    - Good overall saves
    - Used feats: Luck of Heroes, Dodge, Mobility, Combat Casting, Stunning Fist, Combat Expertise, Improved Combat Expertise, Epic Armor, Epic Dex (3).
And a couple more class abilities I didn't mention..

It's awkward and takes loads of xp penalties along the way, but then you do have an insanely good tank. Or more like a god among mortals

I don't think the extra levels into shadowdancer are worth it. Heck for the concept shadowdancer dosent make sense at all.. you can most likely add 4 levels into fighter get two weapon defense feats and weapon spec increaseing your overall dmg and ac.

      I say 5 IB / 5 Fighter / 20 Swashbuckler

Hehe, I'd never play one of these, but the mixing and matching together of classes, feats etc can be a fun way to pass time anyway.

Don't know, must be some sort of D&D-geek thing

I dunno. I own like 30+ rulebooks for 4 different systems but I just skip the mechanics sections and go straight to the lore parts.

I didn't really learn the mechanics until playing on Sundren, since I didn't have some NPC fighter companion to back me up like in the main campaigns.

I also believe ShadowDancer skill Hide in Plain Sight is now moved up to level 2 to recieve it. Not that it should make a difference on the build.

I was under the impression it was level 4.

On Sundren it is, but I think he's talking about a SINGLE player build

                          There's single-player?
"If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. level five shadow dancer = defensive roll
Level 2 shadow dancer = evasion

There is alot of bonuses to taking more then one level of shadow dancer, the problem is alot like to do monk or rogue mixed with shadow dancer which makes it slightly redudant.

Defensive roll is a requirment for having epic dodge so can be very handy.

On sundren I am sure we will see level 4 shadow dancers to get the hips yum. But level 5 gives an added bonus.

My other favorite single player build is a teifling bard/wizard/shadow dancer/ arcane scholar. few ranks of auto silent spell and things get alot of fun.
