  • Sometimes, I hate computers

Soooo yeah. I probably wont be trolling the server for an unknown amount of time. I just found out the graphic card I bought (you know, maybe to play with you wonderful folk ) is defective and needs to sent in for "repairs". This could mean a few weeks or a month tops of waiting for a "repaired" card imo.

Kindda a shame as I have fallen in love with the server community. I'll still wander the forums and might type up a backstory for my char while I wait for the card to come in...

I'm already starting to get the shakes.

Heh, I almost freaked out once when my screen started flickering randomly. I hadn't cleaned out my PC on the inside for months then, but luckily it wasn't too late yet to fix myself. Being separated from Sundren was a more distressing thought than I had at first imagined (most other things I could run on an older machine). Damn addictions!

Wish you all the best for the time during which you'll have to cope with the pains of forced withdrawal

Yeah, this last week I freaked out a lot with my mom computer.

First, the graphic card fried and stoped working. So I bought a new one.
Three days later the computer suddenly turned off, I tried to turn on again and the fuse of the power estabilizer exploded. I changed it and again exploded. Then, the ATX power supply exploded with fireworks.

        Ohhh, that's nothing.

I remember when Sundren went down for that new project that I even forgot the name. I believe it was more than a month? I tried to play in other servers for a while waiting for it come back. I should not even bother to try other servers. It freaks out.

My addiciton is not to nwn2 but to Sundren.

Now I am somewhere between loveing and hating Saulus, lol! Kidding

Oddly enough I like computers just hate lots of people. I can predict a computers actions a persons actions not so much.

          as for horror stories...hmm.

I have seen a power supply poor out smoke like a smoke machine.
I have seen components burning on mainboards
Burnt sockets, popped caps, Cpus with bent pins.
Once I even saw a CPU fan split in half (while running).
          Ram installed 180
Cards removed while the machine is on.
an old socket 7 cpu installed 90 degrees wrong.
          Cd's in 5.25 drives
LED's plugged into things due to they were hanging so burn marks from video card to power suppply.

A week ago I saw someone plug a 3.5 floppy power plug into the audio out plug on a mainboard.

And my personal favorite was a mainboard installed SO wrong that removing a card allowed it to slide down to the bottom of the case.

Only thing I have not seen yet is a sata hard drive with both power plugs used. Not yet but I expect it.

I am sure I could fill a few dozen pages of stupid things I see with computers.

Haha yeah. Its sucks. At first I thought the new card I got just wasn't getting enough power from my PSU, so I went out and upgrade my old one. After that the real problems started. At first when I started playing on SUndren I could run the game smoothly and RP, but spell casters in combat made me crashxx0r. Now I'm lucky if I can get past the opening cut screnes to even play the damn thing.

As far as addictions go back on the NWN1 I played on we called that Salcrack (after the server name, Salrun hehe). What should we call the one for Sundren. Hmm,, Suncrack? Nah...hmmm, Sundcrack? Gettin better. Come on people help me out on this one!

The memories. I was one of the legacy players there known as Feonir, the ranger. Also I played a monk named Ertai, which was later implemented as a special dice roll in that server inspired by my ridiculous damage rolls, the 'Ertai' roll.
