  • Gone gold!!!!

the next expansion for nwn2 has gone gold.

    http://www.gamebanshee.com/news/stat...VlGUQnlnqw.php

I only worry how it affects compatability with the server when its in our grubby hands.

You will still be able to play on Sundren fine with the expansion, however once Sundren requires the expansion when I update the mod, you will obviously no longer be able to play without the expansion.

This was all explained some time ago on the official threads so it should be no surprise to anyone.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

oh its no surprised its just it takes awhile to modify haks etc to be work with expansions or patches. Getting 2da's to include new and old.

All takes time and was actually pondering getting it then installing AFTER sundren is compatable.

Actually, I hadn't even thought about that.. Will you really be able to play on the server if you have the xPack installed and the server doesn't? Don't you get version mismatches and stuff like that, then?

It would certainly make things a whole lot more difficult for me to either test or play if it's incompatible

If they do not match nope. Though staff seems on the ball I do not figure converting would be long unless alot is messed up in it and requires a few patches to fix what was released to quick.

          found manual for those intrested.

          http://maud.metaboli.fr:3006/reposit..._manual_en.pdf

seems hellfire warlock is a 3 level class.
swashbuckler adds int bonus to weapon finese weapons as well as strength. Wonder if it actually requires using weapon finese or just having weapons that weapon finese affects. (been pondering a dwarf using hand axes but having str maxed in the game).

          Neat spells too.

          bard
*Bladeweave: Your weapon gains the ability to daze opponents.

          cleric

*Living Undeath: Protects subject from sneak attacks and critical hits, as though it were undead.
*Stabilize: Heals every nearby ally a slight amount
*Nightshield: Provides a resistance bonus on saving throws and negates magic missle
          attacks directed at you.
*Blood to Water: Transmutes the subject’s blood into pure water.

          ranger
*Blade of Fire: Your melee weapon deals extra fire damage.
*Animalistic Power: Imbues the subject with an aspect of the natural world. The
subject gains a +2 bonus to Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution.
          *Reduce Animal: Shrinks target animal.

          wizard
*Nightshield (A): Provides a resistance bonus to saving throws and negates magic
          missle attacks directed at you.
*Orb of Acid, Lesser (C): An orb of acid shoots from your palm at your target, dealing
          acid damage.
*Orb of Cold, Lesser (C): An orb of cold shoots from your palm at your target, dealing
          cold damage.
*Orb of Electricity, Lesser (C): An orb of electricity shoots from your palm at your
          target, dealing electricity damage.
*Orb of Fire, Lesser (C): An orb of fire shoots from your palm at your target, dealing
          fire damage.
*Orb of Sound, Lesser (C): An orb of sound shoots from your palm at your target,
          dealing sonic damage.
*Reduce Person (T): Shrinks target humanoid.
*Bladeweave (I): Your weapon gains the ability to daze opponents.

....reduce? First person who cast that on Ashinet makes the list.

Holy crap, they're bringing back Symbol of Death.

I just had a BG2 flashback, and it made me tingle all over.
            Characters:
Peridan Twilight, one-eyed dog of the Legion, deceased.
Daniel Nobody, adventurer and part time problem solver.

            [DM] Poltergeist :
If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge an intermediate deity's unbridled fury.

Nothing goes gold anymore. They sell it to you as silver, and then give you patches to try and convince you it's actually gold.

That should definitely be an evil spell on Sundren, though. Also note that rogues using fey heritage feats can be quite nasty. Cast confusion at character level (15 rounds at level 15) three times per day, and damage reduction/cold iron, as well as mind spell resistance... Not bad at all.

As for your quote, Saulus, my question was asked directly in response to that line
Was just asking for confirmation, is all.

Well it does have a duration, and if it treated like undead when a rogue reaches level 21 they could over come a second level spell haha.

Plus might be able to use a scroll to dispell it until they reach higher levels.

Hellfire warlocks kinda weird seems it keeps hurting con using its abilities so you have to either be careful or split between dex, con, chr instead of just dex, chr.

I still wonder how swashbuckler really works, though might as well do dual handaxes.

the new preist class is pretty darn uber too, helps alot against death magic.

The swashbuckler can use any weapons that work with the weapon finesse feat and give them +damage equal to his int modifier. So yes, the strength based swashbuckler would work, although then you're missing out on the main strength of the class, which is not having to rely on strength for melee damage.

As for hellfire warlocks... they seem unbalanced to me in a multiplayer environment. I mean sure, in a universe where you risk being harrassed whenever you rest that con penalty might be a great risk, but that isn't the case here. You could just destroy what was intended to be the biggest baddest enemy ever in a couple of rounds using +6d6 eldritch blasts, and hit rest as soon as the fight is over without having to worry about anything. Or in CvC, you could go at someone permanently invisible, unleash hell and become invisible again. And then walk away freely.

not really Maybe I should lay out what I am thinking.

                              Dwarf, Ranger 21, Fb6, Swashbuckler 3.

going strength for everything means damage and attack bonus, doing ranger means it gets Pefect two weapon fighting even though it does not rank in that.

at full attack bonus, add in power attack, int modifer, and strenght modifer should make it do nice damage.

Like many things the manual says one thing but until we have it who knows what it really does. So even if it says weapon finese items it could be like combat Insight that just adds to ALL weapons.

should be a fun charactor for single player.

Hellfire warlock not sure if its uber for PW. Warlock looks great in paper but actually takes awhile to blast.

Ah, here is its weakness MOBS. according to the manual

Hellfire sheild -does 6d6 damage to those near by for EACH target affected takes 1 con point damage. (so say six targets -6 con...OUCH).

each time you blast with the hellfire blast enabled you take 1 con point damage.

Gives warlocks more power but also makes those building them have to up their con to use alot of blasts or sheilds.
