My titanium barbell finally came in the mail today so I'll be able to get an industrial tomorrow. My only other piercing is my eyebrow, which is known to be one of the least painful areas to get done (and I still thought it hurt like the devil for the few seconds it was actually getting done). Cartilage, however, is another ballpark...


That's an industrial, but I think that's a 1 1/2" barbell at 14 gauge. My barbell is going to be 1 1/4" at 16 gauge because I have widdle girly ears.

It's not the "mutilation" or "alteration" part that bothers me. I have plenty of accidental scars anyway (mostly surgery-related), so what's another teeny wound? It's the pain that goes along with it.

I have my septum pierced and it didnt really hurt that bad..It gave me a headache for a bit,but that was it.

Advice...Make sure you keep that bad boy clean,my ex-wife had one in each ear and she cleaned it once a day,so she said,but they easily get infected.You dont want bulging infected puss bumps on your ear.My septum took 5 months to completely heal , but i kept it very clean at all times.Be paranoid with your piercings,keep them clean.

For those that dont know what a septum piercing is,it is the cartilage between the nostrils.Yes,the bull ring.

They usually suggest a saline solution or a saltwater mixture for cleaning, but it was drying the skin around my eyebrow out a lot when I got that pierced. And flaky, dry skin there is not pretty.

So what I started doing was putting neosporin around and all over the piercing, then moving it around a bit to get the neosporin inside the wound. If I do this twice a day, it should be fine. I hope.
