  • Yashia: Lawful Stupid or Chaotic Stupid?

That Yashia isn't the sharpest tack in the drawer is not that much of a secret, but I was curious to find out what the general opinion is on her alignment. Kind of like the old thread 'Mad' Jack Flynn had posted (nostalgia! ).

There are several of you who just know what it is, and you can cheat to find out, but that's not the point of this thread. What alignment do you think would best describe her behaviour and personality as she is now? And why? Let's hear it...

(evil alignments omitted because that only leads to absurd answers )

I never assumed anything other than LG.

Though I (not Juney) am often wrong...

Lawful because she adheres strictly to some sort of code though I'm not sure exactly what it is.

Good because she never seems to do anything really selfish and seems to be more focused to the greater good. Though I imagine she could also possibly be LN.

As a neutral and mainly invisible overseer of many events past and present I can say that I feel Yashia tends towards Neutral Good. Yashia seems fairly neutral in action but I think her tendencies point her towards the direction of the common good.

I'm going for NG, but I have something I'd like to share with you regarding the opposite Lawful alignment of Chaotic Stupid. However, I feel that would be better shared in private, so PM me if you want to know, Kael.

Lawful good I feel, Dae's ears are still red after she nearly talked them off for speaking up against the anderson act :P

Actually, I'd say more like Lawful Neutral. She *tries* to be LG but she often lets her prejudices get the better of her, and she has a very narrow point of view a lot of the time. ( This is not a flame, just an answer =P )

I have to agree with Uri , seem to me like your LN... Maybe idk it seems like a quite a mixture of NG and LN you seem more neutral than anything.

Interesting results thus far. Not only the votes are coming along pretty much as I expected, reactions differing according to perspective depending on what characters you all play yourselves and how she responds to them seem fitting too.

                    More thoughts are welcome!

After speaking with Yashia several times with Os, I believe she is definitely LG or NG. One of the major elements I believe determines a 'good' character is the acknowledgment that true good and true evil exist, which Yashia has admitted to on several occassions.

A good character often understands their mistakes and sees themselves as no better overall than those that willingly commit crimes, merely aware of the fact that they too are not perfect and have done wrong in their own lifetime. Yashia acknowledges this, admits to it, tries hard to stay away from the darker paths in life, and tries to better herself as well. At least that is how it seems to Os and me.

In fact, I dare say that Yashia is one of the most good-hearted people in Sundren. Much of the good she accomplishes seems to be not only her desire, but almost like an 'instinct' to her at times. She's borderline saintly lol.

The Lawful or Neutral question is a bit trickier though. I would have to say NG in the end though, simply because as far as law and order goes, Yashia seems to have a similar outlook to Os. Law and order has its place and is truly necessary in a society, but there are times when the matters of what is good and righteous must take precedence.

Yashia could definitely become LG though, as one's behavior is more a determination to one's alignment than just what they are thinking. The paladins of Torm for example are really upset about the Anderson Act and believe it has no place in a prosperous society, however they dare not raise a hand directly against it as it is still a law of the land.
