Played on a server called Thain and enjoyed it at first, then when I got serious into RP'ing my character got hasseled by a DM so much that I quit. Later I found out that several other folks also quit because of that DM hounding them and making up dumb rules and such. I miss Thain (the world) as it had lots of stuff to do and an excellent encounter system and was pretty good in size and challenges.

I created and ran a small PW called Stygian Apeture and had a lot of fun with it, I ran some small 4-6 players groups through the world and enjoyed doing some storyline style DM'ing for them. Eventually I got tired of creating/managing the PW and dumped it.

I started my RP adventure (Not just in NWN, but in general) on a server called Ruin Valor.

Great people, great staff. Worked with them for a while, too, writing code.

Hopefully the leader will stop being gay in Navy Deployment and come back to work on RV2.

Well for me there's only been two servers who had the most impact on me, sure I played on others but not as much as these two.

The first one was a little place called Aria. For a starter to nwn and rping this place was great. I was here for a long time and I took part in some really amazing and fun quests (I totally saved the world by myself once). Eventually I wanted to help it grow a bit so I became a Dm there. Crazy and fun times, heh. But unfortuately I had to leave, becasue it wasnt all sunshine and smiles. The server just wasn't going forward, nothing was changing, no one was having an effect on their surrondings. This drove me crazy and in the end I just couldn't stand it anymore.

For a while I was surfing servers for one that at least rped a little, but I had no luck. So one day I mashed my keyboard and hit my mouse.... All that took me to a server called Nelanther.

I can't believe none of you have been to Nelanther, it was the greastest nwn server I've ever seen. Set in the pirate isles of Nelanther, we took no shit from new comers, we terrorised the seas, unlocked hidden wonders, and kicked ass pirate style. Now every time I see someone rping a genric pirate part of me gets kinda mad, becasue you really needed to play on Nelanther to understand how to rp a pirate right.

Becasue I loved that place so much I became a Dm there too, crazy times once more. Sadly our team that was hosting the server just couldn't anymore, and Nelanther was taken off...

(Don't believe that new nwn2 Nelanther... it's not the same one...)

I explored a few other servers but nothing could compare to Nelanther, so I quit nwn.

But nwn2's given me new hope.

            NWN

Immersea: Where I started to play the game, played there for a year or so and got my char up to lvl 18 with my paladin who led the local order.. . it was a good server, good first experience attleast.

Shadowmoon: A friend who played on Immersea made this server because he grew tired of a few people on Immersea, so I moved there and helped him to build and DM, server was running for about 5 mounths.

Monthelethia(sp?): Realy low magic and low lvl server, played there for a few mounths and played many houers a day and reached mighty lvl 5 with my wizard. . the guy who made this server was the best builder/scriper I ever saw in nwn.

Myth Drannor: found this place after montelethia, big playerbase and greate RP and many plots by DMs in the beginning, but when the same was going for the expansion some bugs occured and XP was gained too easy so many people lvls way too fast. before it had a lvl cap on 10 or 12 but that script got broken or something so people could pass. .and as I had played for about a year and a half and was lvl 14 with my paladin and saw these people go to 16 in two weeks I got kinda pissed and quit.

Aglarond: People who wasnt to happy about all this on MD started to play here so I came along and played there for a few mounths before the whole project was put in the grave. . here I meet one of the best DMs ive ever played with and he was a good admin too, think the reason why the server died was because he quit. Cecil his name was I think. .reached lvl 16 with my paladin here.
alot of issues casued me to quit this place, favorism among admin/DMs and such.

Aolyth: A friend from my first server started this server up played my blackguard there and reached lvl 12, and builded for the server, was realy fun there but the place died after a few mounths because of a lack of players.

MythDrannor: again? yes, started to play there for a few mounths again, but then another project came up I wanted to jump on.

Cormyr and the Dalelands: (CD) Though the place was going to be a nice one so I gave it a shot and it was the best server I ever played on I think, played there from the rice to its fall. .played a Aasimar paladin named Lanthar Aironiquise he reached lvl 17. . was thinking of playing on the rebirth of the server too but I fealt I didnt have the time or lust to start all over again at the same place after spending so much time on the charakter I ones built there. . best nwn community I experiensed. . a thank to all the builders/admins/DMs for that. . and the module itself was eyecandy aswell. . much much custom content. . might have another visit ones the server is put up again.

Vilhoun Reach: Started to play there after CD went down, quite a nice place, many nice HAKs and a beautiful world. . think its down now though.

Amia: Big downs to this place, cant see how this place had most players in nwn.

ALFA: Badly wanted to try this server, but it was passworded and no DMs seemed to ever be on the module you had to play to get invited to the acual server so I kinda gave up. .think that was a misstake by the ALFA community, they should have had a character application this such as Sundrens, many friends gave up because of the invite system they used. . did hear alot of good things about the servers from people who played there.

My passion was the player side of NwN, never realy liked the DM side of it. .did try it on a few servers but gave up quite quickly. . loved to build in the toolset aslong as there was alot of HAKs and stuff. .took me a while, but I wanted everything I built to be extreemly detailed and though out.

            NWN2

Started to play on a server called Forgotten Realms. . then jumped over to a server called Myth Drannor. . and then to Sundren, I like Sundren and how the whole community is set up, kinda reminds me of CD for some reason.
Character: William Norain - Self claimed Protector of Sundren, Keeper of the Necropolis gate, the man betwen Sundren and Oblivion.

Login Lanthar: The Causer of Silence.

I played on a lot of NWN1 servers, sadly, I can't remember all of the names since I played on so many.. only three servers really stick out in my mind. Dragons Coast (IB), Empires of Eternity, and Dragons Coast (EM).

Dragons Coast (IB): This place was really, really fun. The friendly player base is what really kept me around as my computer back then couldn't handle huge server events. Had lots of fun there, and several of the people I played with there were top quality Rpers, I learned a lot from them. Good times there.. and who could forget the Crimson Lions Mercenary band?

Empires of Eternity: I moved here after the people I played with most of the time on DC (IB) moved there. Had tons of fun there, and was even a DM for awhile. I stepped down from DMing because I just couldn't do it anymore, I just wanted to play and not have the worries of a DM. Then, again, most of the people I was playing with stopped playing, and I didn't have much drive to continue playing myself, being busy with RL stuff. I tried to go back once, I played for awhile then just stopped again. Not sure why, but I just didn't enjoy myself there anymore.

Dragons Coast (EM): I only played here for a short little bit, but the two quests that I was on when I was there were very enjoyable, memorial moments. Trapped on an unknown island, creepy sounds at night.. only six of us and running low on supplies.. ah, good times.

I haven't played on any standout RP servers on NWN2 yet, but I hope that I can make Sundren one.

                'lo!

Let's see... so many servers, so little of a memory.

NWSigil - Outstanding RP server. Most of my memories of NWN stem from this Planescape local vault based on Sigil, the center of the universe. It didn't always have the largest crowds but it was quality, not quantity that counted here. I DM'd, and designed a plane or two, some taverns, and a spelljammer for the server. You could RP to your heart's content here as there were so many possibilities to take your character on.

World of Palladium - A fairly decent RP PW. One of the best I had encountered in NWN. It was based on a series of books on a fictional world far from Toril. I had many a good time adventuring and roleplaying with folks there for a time before it fell to disinterest. There was a good mix, again, between adventuring and roleplaying. Those elements worked so well that the server survived for a few players to persist with it into NWN2. It's still yet to open a beta for it, though.

Vives -- The most beautifully done RP PW server from my experiences. The player base truly made this world what it was and still is (it's still around). With a large roleplaying crowd, there was a lot of input that the developers worked with as they were very open to suggestions and help. It really was/is the epitome of a fantasy world. The entire setting was brought from the ground up by the its' creators with no connection to any D&D setting; no less, it's lore was fantastic. Vives is something that you have to see for yourself. Last I read they're developing a cross-over PW for NWN2.

Tears of Artorin - Now this was a world where a sailor could live his/her dream. Once more, this world was an original one, created by a driven group of people. A RP PW server, the land was divided into a series of isles where sailing was the only option to travel anywhere. Unfortunately I did not have the best of experiences or the greatest of memories there since by that time I was weary of NWN and soon to take a break.

Three characters only come to mind when I was active with these servers -- Valerian Wrynn (or some varient of the name), Vrok, and Magnus. There were others but I lost track of their names. Moreover, there were other servers I dabbled in, but that's the jist of it.

                Cheers!
