  • The Famous and you

Alright, it has been a while since I have asked one of my odd questions. Hard to top the 'who would do your character voice' one (still trying to figure out how to put his own .wav files in his posts).

Here is one though regarding your character's past.

Has your character ever met, spoke with, or interacted in some minor or major way any famous character from the Forgotten Realms universe?

I trust the people on this server well enough to not say something like "Yeah, I taught Drizzt how to fight" or anything like that. This is simply another semi-nerdy curiousity by Silas.

I taught Drizzt how to fight!

Oh, come one, don't say you didn't see that one coming. On the other hand...um...in passing, maybe, but not personally.

Pyras was inspired to abandon his cowardice and strive to become a Red Wizard (a very suicidal goal in Thay), by the Zulkir of Illusion, when he saw her cast a rather nasty illusion on someone that irritated her. Sort of an awe-inspiring experience, and he wanted to taste it.

For those that don't know, Zulkir's are the be-all end-all Red Wizards, all of ridiculous power. There is only one Zulkir for each school of magic, and they're all epic, I believe.

Yeah, Aly has interacted with Hano Fetten, Triumvirate paladin of guitar heros.

But other than that, Alyrian's mother Phaedriel was originally supposed to have made the warlock pact with Graz'zt, a demon-prince. I kept references to him specifically vague, however, because I didn't want to be sued (I think some of her backstory includes him only as a subtle reference - I never name him specifically). And then later I had to reimagine her story to account for my taking "Word of Changing" Devil form. I figured a demon-based warlock turning into a devil might not make that much sense ...

The demon Alyrian's father made the dark pact with is a reference to/based on Adimarchus, a demon that had a huge rivalry with Graz'zt. I again left the reference vague in the story though.

Mirumoto once met the Overgod. Although he doesn't remember it. Ao cheated him out of 5 stags.

Glagnur has spent time in The Mithral Halls and basically he's one of the disciples of Thibbledorf Pwent, which is meant to explain his outstanding toughness and skill in combat. He knows about most heroes and famous people of the area too, but haven't neccesarily met all of them.

Calewyn is not related to any NPC, but he's based upon an old character of mine from NWN1 who became quite epic as he founded an elven faction in the server. Cal himself haven't met many famous people of the realms as he's more forest-oriented type and there's hardly any notable wood elves out there.

            Cer'wyïl Durothil - Mix-breed noble elf
            Tredonael - The shapeshifter
Glagnur Frostfury - The arctic dwarf barbarian
Calewyn Gil'Fang - Wood elven archer
Jaegor Ursablad - The wychlaran knight from Rashemen

**Warning: Spoiler Alert that could be easily found in the credits of MotB** I'd go all 'Gann' on all your asses and ask Crispin Freeman to make Cyrus' voice sound like Alucard from Hellsing.

And as for meeting famous people, I'm kinda empty-handed, but Cyrus got kicked out of Candlekeep (and before that, Halruaa) for showing too much interest in undeath.

Annie's older brother Ruddy was the kid who yelled:

Whereas Juniper most likely believes that there is nobody more famous than her, and were she able to see this list, would be wondering why her name isn't on it...
Juniper Thimbles, aka Juney, Blueberry, Maggie, Magpie or Queenie, depending who you ask:
Ex-Seamstress, Wannabe Collector, and Machiavellian Maker of Mischief.
'Cherries or Strawberries? Rain or Shine? Cats or Dogs? Cake or Pie?'
