The Official Connection Complaint Thread

Due to there being 7 different threads dealing with connection issues active, I've closed each and everyone of them and opened this.

Here is where you post your "I'm broke.... oh wait it worked after 3 minutes" posts. Connection problems, lag out, transition crashes, etc.

If I see it any where else, I'll delete it. Whe have to have some kind of organization to track down this malicious problem

Things to remember:
1.) If you get booted from Sundren and then its no longer visible to you in Gamespy at all, You've been IP banned for 5 minutes because your connection packet flooded the server for whatever reason.

2.) Your stuck at the loading screen, many times (but not all) if you sit there for 30 to 90 seconds, it will resolve and let you in.

I had issues last night, stuck on the loading screen for a long time (at least 15 minutes) and never actually managed to get in at all. I tried again after 5 minutes, then ten minutes each time with the same result, then got bored and posted on the forums instead.

On the up side, the updater isn't broken any more

Sean, I experienced the second issue listed many times.

I can say for a fact that I was dropped every time I leveled my new character. I would complete the leveling up, come back to the normal game screen and be unable to move. However, when I got back in-game, my character was saved as being leveled up.

Additionally, I had a lot of drops when I attempted to zone. I would never reach the loading screen. I would run up to the transition object and then be dropped before reaching loading.

I am not using any overrides, custom portraits, UI mods, or anything Sundren did not provide. This problem has only been around for me over the last day or maybe two.

And sorry to those who have RPed with me recently, I've been crashing at really bad times, and then I'm not able to log back in.

EDIT: Confirming PL's second issue. Can't confirm the first because I haven't leveled up lately.

How many of you are using portraits? Overrides? UI mods? All of these things can cause issues. Make sure you disable all of these before telling me you have a loading/connection issue.

And before anyone says it: I don't care if it works on mod X or server Y fine.

I have no mods of any kind installed, this was a clean install of NWN2 purely for Sundren with only the official patch installed.

I can also confirm PL's second issue with Zoning. Not too frequent, maybe one out of 15 zones has this issue.

Can confirm both of these, dropped when leveling a new character and very often when zoning clicking the zone object "lags out" the character (i.e. game game doesn't crash but I can't move, send or receive messages, or interact in anyway).

Not for me, I'm at work, so I haven't logged in yet. Last night was the problematic connection issue, so the zoning problem didn't happen then either

It technically happened to me today, as I was on past midnight last night. Phantom Lamb made a good description of the problem, and I am enduring all that he has as well. Pyras crashed when I took the level he just gained, I freeze before ever reaching the loading screen when hitting transitions, and when I do indeed make it into some loading screens, it'll freeze at the same spot everytime. For me, it freezes before the area updates are loaded.

It would have had to have occurred after last night's server restart at 1am. If it hasn't happened today in the past 8 hours or so then I would reserve judgment and see if it's still happening.

Right this second, I am experiencing the ungodly delay in the initial loading screen, stuck at:

Logging Character Into Module.
Unloading Module...
Loading Module...
Module Loaded Successfully.

This is where it freezes for me every single time. I've currently been waiting over five minutes.

Despite the troubles, there was something mentioned (I think by Skro), that really helps the situation. When you choose Sundren from the gamespy list, click Connect, then Select Character, and hold there with your list of characters without actually selecting one. Wait there a few minutes, and then when you attempt to actually enter the module, the loading is much smoother. Most of the time.

I don't know if that helps figure out the problem, but it is certainly helpful to players in my situation. I find that it works everytime.

I'm reverting something in the next hak. It will only effect people that chose hair style 80 for a human female. You'll be bald temporarily as I test it.

It's being a prick to me again; stuck at "Module successfully loaded" while transitioning from the Temple of Helm to the Trade Tier in Sundren City.
