I thought I might drop down something here to let you know a little more about me... and hopefully understand some of what I do.

I have scant D&D history... not by choice, but because no one I know is interested in it. (I live in a small town in south Jersey... most of my friends wonder why I bother with "somethin somethin Nights" and dont play Halo 3 and Diablo 2 with every spare second I have.)

So a lot of the time I am struggling against a learning curve, where everyone else knows much more about history, religions, factions, etc. in the game than I do.

My roleplaying on NWN1 was limited to a small and very crazy server called the Princess Bride. While nothing extremely deep, it was probably my first experience with roleplaying. And it WAS fun... very much so.

Only in the last year have I started what is called "Heavy Roleplaying" in a different game, City of Heroes. But this is when I really fell in love with roleplaying. The people I fell in with were VERY good at it... and by being around them I saw how much could be done when you bring a bunch of really good roleplayers together...

And this has brought me, full circle, back to Neverwinter Nights and to Sundren.

I almost turned from it right away when I saw the level cap... because while I have loved roleplaying, there is a drive I cant explain to get as strong as I can as quickly as I can... and thats really not what this PW is about.

It has took several mental slaps sometimes to get myself to slow down and roleplay about the roses... I have had to tell myself "calm down... the monsters and loot will be there later, but now you have a chance to grow your character instead of your xp bar." And that helps.

I know I could always go somewhere else. I know there are PW's that have both RP and rapid growth, fat loot, and such... But then I think of the other sorts of people those servers draw... the ones that type like a five-year-old with dyslexia and use the shout channel every chance they get until a DM drops the hammer on them. The way things are set up here... it must be like DDT to them.

Well... thats about it. I hope I will stick around and become a part of the community. I hope I will adjust quickly to the uniqueness of this PW. And I hope to have many interesting hours interacting with you great "Arr Pee'ers" in the weeks to come.

Either that or I will roll out my half-orc barbarian from Princess Bride and attack you all in a drunken rage.

"And thus I clothe my naked villainy with old odd ends stolen forth from holy writ and seem a saint, when most I played the devil."

You should stick around this server is pretty awesome, though like you said, you cant build your pc up xp wise as fast as you like, but when you do it is much more rewarding.Besides anyone can grind and build a powerful character. But what makes the character unique is who he or she is,which im sure you know..And the level cap which im sure has you at level 5,will go away in a week.So take that time to learn more about other characters and what is going on in Sundren.Plus you get xp while rping. But ive learned that when rping sometimes the rewards are greater than just endless grinding...Have fun and seeya IG..

I think you just managed to describe exactly what Saulus has always said his vision for Sundren embodied.

      To Mold a Mind:

Ohhh... the cap starts at 5 for a week.

I totally didnt know that. Was wondering why I wasnt getting any higher with combat xp.

But yes... I am going to stick around. I just posted this to let you guys know where I am coming from and to let you know I'll do my best to get my head around the Sundren mindset.

Edit: Oh and I have decided to break out my barbarian anyway. I had a few amusing ideas about him while I thought on the whole thing.

Originally he was a half-ogre, but thats not available. But with a little editing I am sure his spirit will translate easily to Sundren...

Here is a heads-up... hold on to your coin purses and guard your ale houses. He is amiable sometimes... when he has enough ale... you can even get him to rip the head off a troublesome chieftain for you if you speak slowly and offer him something he wants...

But when he is in a bad mood... call the local garrison and pray to your deity of choice.
