  • Male or female?

This site claims to guess the gender of the author when you paste in passages of what someone has written.

It's quite fun. And it also appears I must have a gender-changing belt somewhere. From my old fan-fic site, one of my old fan fiction stories came up male, another female.

    Anyone else want to try?

I'm going to feed in my character bios as soon as I get home
Annaleen Wiltenholm-There's always something to smile about.
Chani Kalera- Intimidation is the new diplomacy. *looms*
Eleanor "Bloody Elle" Lark - Why is the rum always gone?
Yolanda Brown - If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. But unless life also gives you water and sugar, your lemonade is going to suck.
    Astrid Hammerhand - Och!

Yea, when asked that I normally just reply, "I'm a Moth!"

    It throws people off anyway.

    The above text scored:
    Female Score: 17
    Male Score: 12

A few other posts of mine scored:
    Female Score: 290
    Male Score: 219

    Female Score: 274
    Male Score: 145

    Female Score: 55
    Male Score: 92

    Female Score: 0
    Male Score: 17

    Female Score: 149
    Male Score: 59

    Female Score: 291
    Male Score: 118

    Female Score: 104
    Male Score: 12

So bar a few, it's got me as female. Is it right or wrong? Guess you'll just have to keep wondering :P

It's scary really. I tried this text from Sharringtonm, "Just go ahead and finish it. Its easier to do that then to go in and alter the databases."
    It received this score:
    Female Score: 8
    Male Score: 17

Oh, and apparently Leaving Hope is a girl too!
These are a couple of Leaving Hope's posts:
    Female Score: 359
    Male Score: 188

    Female Score: 90
    Male Score: 65

And finally, your post Verrath, came up like this:
    Female Score: 21
    Male Score: 127
"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room!"

Haha, 12 out of 16 of my longer RP posts came up as female. Yikes! RP'ing Yashia makes me get into the head of a woman rather much.

EDIT: And I got the following scores for that bit of text I just posted above:
              Female Score: 4
              Male Score: 36

Luckily I can distinguish imagination from reality quite well.

Well, most of my old fanfiction stories register as female, at least.

Only one of my three character bios does though. Heh.

(the pic is somewhat old, btw.)

I took a PhD certified test in regards to determining gender-based thinking patterns in the brain. As it turns out, my thought processes are more similar to a woman than a man. It was a 51/49 split.

I'm thinking that mine probably register "male" so often because I learned my English from reading books (not a native speaker), and 4 out of 5 of my favorite authors are male (or so they say - I could only verify one in person - hehe).

You can't really help adopting the writing style of those authors you read, especially if you don't know any better, and happen to like their style
