Love is a an irrational emotion that evolved to to promulgate the species. If love could have an alignment, it would be chaotic neutral. It has great power, to both create and to destroy.

That's why Paladins, *ahem ahem* should never love.

I define love as the ancient Hebrews did:
They had few abstract words and defined everything in a concrete way. To Love (Ahava, Literally "I Will Give") someone is to take care of them and to sacrifice for them. It is to give of yourself and provide for them.

Those are my 2 cents and no, I don't give refunds....

Crikey, hard thing to define..

For me, it's waking up with someone and seeing them in their natural state, all the flaws, defects and imperfections but still finding them totally and utterly beautiful. You wouldn't want to wake up with anyone else.

It's knowing that you can walk past any temptation because no matter what it is it doesn't compare to the person you love.

It's knowing that even if you argue and bicker over things occasionally it's worth it, disagreement is transitory while what you feel for that person is much more long term.


And, just because I'm bored and Sundrens down, Eira's perspective on Love:

For man, dwarf, elf or other love is a self deluding lie.

It's pathetic, something used by people who are to insecure to risk being alone. People to incomplete and weak to be able to live without the fawning affections of another.

Love is mutual ego rubbing, a pathetic display of insecurity and weakness, a lie and fable told by those who settle for what they have without ever wanting to push themselves, those who live in fear of dying alone.

Love can only ever be divine, a mortal could never comprehend the passion and pain involved.
