The basic background of this episode was my character, Jamyse, was assisting a new bunch of players to complete a quest, one which they might not have been able to do on their own, but Jamyse could do by himself. In short he was attempting to be a guide and a little bit of protection for a group of relatively new players. In the end Jamyse got fed up and abandoned them to the tender mercies of the goblins ( of which, unfortunately there were to few to kill them ) to quote batman " I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you either "
Lately the only thing that keeps me from wishing for a worldwide disaster... is that it would probably interrupt my network connection

If you're a "good guy", turn to the mage that tends to skulk about invisible half the time wearing dark clothes and ask him if he can do something about this

*EDIT*

On a more serious note, (directed to the newbs) when you're in a DM event, it's not a race. Take your time to see what's going on. Each person knows thier character and what he/she is capable of or willing to do. Also, if you will /dm can I roll a (insert skill here) check on (insert apect of event here)?, you'll find that they'll usually give you a little info/background or reveal something to you. Remeber, they're administering an event because they want to interact with the world of Sundren as well. I've never met DMs that hold an event to promote grinding :P

And one last thing, if someone is being an "event guide", listen to them. If Jamyse has something going on, then chances are the DM isn't gonna rush ahead of that character anyway. And some DMs can be very unforgiving when you frustrate them

Just some pointers to the people just getting immersed in the world of sundren. Hope it helps. Everyone understands you wanna get the first few lvls behind you as fast as possible, but take time to be part of the world, too.

Unfortunately it was one of the people in the party, ironically the character who kept giving Jamyse shit for being a "mercenary" was the only one at the end ( aside from Lafnae who also along to help the group more than any other reason ) who ended up being honorable. I don't know who plays Llew Hy, but whoever you are kudos from me for good RP even if Jamyse can't stand you

Yes, was a curious episode, when [Human Girl] took all the loot, all of us were pissed off and Jamyse left the party, but [Human Girl], Llew Hy and I left the cave, and then Llew Hy splitted up because he said we are mercenaries and don't take care of Jamyse and Lafnae what they are still inside the cave.

But... I saw Jamyse opening and looting a chest when earlier I said I wanted to loot it, since [Human Girl] took all the loot, and Jamyse scolded her.
So, my character tought Jamyse was hypocritical and left him behind and escorted [Human Girl].

Order of events
1) 90 minutes at least of stressful unappreciated assistance
2) Jamyse's patience finally Snaps
3) He loots a chest for about 250 gp, admittedly out of spite for the annoyance he feels towards the people who he was escorting
4) Story ends

Now that that's clear, what did Jamyse do that a good 90% of characters wouldn't have at least done, I imagine some chaotic neutral or any evil character would have been happy to slay them all, any good character might have considered knocking them unconcious and stripping them of their booty, only perhaps a Lawful Good character would have walked away without looting that chest, but then again a Lawful good character might have done what Jamyse did, then again I don't play Lawful good because I RP them like they are beginning to volunteer to be the first into the dragon cave covered in barbeque sauce.

Larando you are very polite . More so than I am at least, I mentioned at least once during all this "/// has everyone read the server rule?" such as...

Ninja Looting

Ninja looting is defined as following someone else, letting them fight in combat while you pick up all loot right under their nose, keeping it for yourself. This will cost heavy XP deductions if anyone is caught doing so.

Administrator Supremacy

Server administrators and dungeon masters make decisions for the good of the server. Their word on something is final unless appealed to another official who will then review the situation and decide to reinforce or abolish the decision previously made. If you believe you have been treated unfairly by a member of our staff, please make a post on the forums regarding your situation. Insulting DMs or staff members whether publically or ingame is not a good way to get help, they are regular people just like everyone else who want to have fun.

And elsewhere it is mentioned several times that DM's need time to set events in motion, because the the DM client is very clunky.

I shouldn't have to repost this, it's not hard to find. Also In case you need it spelled out for you, when it comes to quest/rare items, it's good form to roll for it if more than one person needs/wants it. This is not rocket science

Now I think I'll stop before I go from rant to flame, and I if I might request it, this thread may need to be locked.

Perhaps sending this person a tell a bit earlier on telling them that ninja-looting is not cool and also against the server rules might have stopped the situation getting out of hand.

If that happens, take a screenshot and post in the help forums... Analysing it here does nobody any good.
