Yeah, I did a lot of research before I ordered that one. If I remember it's called a temper line (it's been about a year since I really looked in to it). I was quite happy with my temper line when I received it, I spent a few hours looking it over to ensure it was the kind of quality I had wanted and paid for.Akodo

I use the oak bokken as part of my aikido training, as stated in the legend, and I've done some kendo with my shinai. (The techniques used with the bokken and shinai easily translate in to use with the katana, surprisingly *snickers sarcastically*). Proficiently, that's a tough question, do I know how to properly swing and hold it and perform techniques I have learned, yes, have I fought with it, no. Although I have sword fought before, before I began actually training with a sword, as mentioned in the legend. I don't know if I'd call myself proficient, but I feel confident that if I was attacked I could run someone through with it, largely due to the fact that most people do not seem to train in martial arts and most people probably do not know how to dodge a sword or carry an implement to block one with. If the other person had a gun though, that probably wouldn't matter.
Right now it's mostly a collection + training implements.Akodo
