The Ogre is worth exactly as much xp as I say it is... end of story.

I ran many AD&D 2nd ed. campaigns, and this is precisely how it worked! This is the only way balance could be maintained in a 2nd ed. environment. That is all; anyone who experienced this will attest that my answer is the only correct one.
