In terms of the Shadow Dancer HiPS move (the pelvic thrust as I call it), the ability was moved to level four because lots of people were dipping one level of the class for no other reason than to get the ability (and they really were just taking one level). The decision was made on the basis that it might be nice to have people commit to the path of dancing the shadows in order to actually reap the benefits.

HiPS is DEADLY. But does the shadowdancer have anything else going for it? I've heard the rest of the class abilities were all terrible (from a purely powerbuilding perspective, that is - RP wise the abilities sound fun).

Well, it's cool! That' what's going for it. From a powerbuilding perspective all you'd want is the HiPS, thus four levels are needed to get that in order to discourage such naughtiness.

I know why it was changed and what people did it for, but what I was saying is that if they had a RP reason (like the one I suggested) I would think that it should be alright, but if they had no reason then sure, take it away or do something else to them lol.
