NWN and Console gaming

...an Idle thought - since I'm stuck at work

Do you guys think NWN3 (or whatever the next big D&D rpg is) will be released on XBox and/or Playstation? Or will it stay with the PC?

Just wondering, especially the RP component - will it be viable on consoles and with PWs?

PC I would think. Console games for D&D never seem as much fun to me. Also, the modding community is a definite factor when determining a D&D game.

Agreed. I tried a D7D game for the PS2 once. That won't happen again.

Yeah the two genres are getting closer as the years go by. However I find especially RTS and quality RPG's are always going to be at home on the PC due to it's qualities.

RPG's can work on consoles, but not for Roleplay. You can do more with a keyboard than with a controller, and thats why most console RPG's are based more on the single player apect, with multiplayer just being PvP or PvM.

Basically like Diablo, if anyone ever really role played in that game I'de be surprised. Though it is classified as an RPG.

Edit: Not that the Diablo games were bad, I had many hours of fun with them, I just wouldn't want to classify it as an RPG in the strictly role playing sense because I've never seen anyone role play. Maybe it should be classified as an Action RPG or something.

Only real D&D game I've played on console is BG: Dark Alliance and Dark Alliance 2 on ps2.

TBH, it was more hack 'n' slash than D&D, and I didn't like how the end to 2 was identical to 1, albeit with different characters; you can't have the same cliffhanger end twice, it just doesn' work

amen dark alliance was boring, consoles games are far more mass marketed then pc for the most part, seriously look at how small the nwn2 community is, not much of a market.


....though they make some pretty terrible console games, so maybe im just baked
