Probably the most fun character I ever ran in NWN1 was a halfling barbarian with minimized int. The very basic background was that he got lost shortly after infancy and managed against all odds to survive. He was based in part on Captain Caveman. All his feats he ever took were related to the use of a club. His name was Urg.

He'd run around that server's main camp speaking only in grunts that followed a simple sentence structure in a vocabulary I made up. "Urg hrrnk hwwwr! Hng hrrnk hwwwr ng Urg?" would translate, roughly, to, "I, Urg, am hunting wolves. Would you be so kind as to join in the hunt with Urg?" Some of the smarter players picked up on the language and, though Urg was wise enough to figure out the very basic gist of what people were saying and emoting, he'd also misinterpret things often enough.

He also enjoyed decorating and was only happy if things in the camp were arranged in a certain way. And he got obsessed with the first half-elf that tried to protect him from exploitatin. He called her "Maw-maw!" and would tend to run up and hug her leg at inappropriate times.

Usually I'd have to stop playing him from the laughter and switch to something more boring, like an elf ranger.

I believe intelligence more accurately displays your capacity to learn, rather than what you know.

Even though the average Orc has 6 intelligence (give or take a bit), if that Orc lived to 70, there's a rather distinct possibility he could be well spoken by then.

To use a modern analogy, a person with low intelligence might just take a bit longer to learn a concept, whereas the higher intelligence person might pick it up quicker. That's why young intelligent people articulate in colorful ways - they've simply picked up on sophisticated English.
You can get more with a kind word and a gun than you can with just a kind word.

If Int 6 is the level of a moron, then you would learn what a moron can learn. You would probably have rudimentary language skills, but they would probably remain rudimentary, IMO. Yes, you could probably learn a bit more, but........

As to having a 6 Int and a 6 charisma, what did you put the rest of the points into? You have a 14 wisdom, so I would say you maxed Con and Str out. If you do that, then I would say you have to take the penalties with the lower stats and play them out.

There have been a couple posts about this before and if I remember correctly, the DMs heavily frowned on builds where you had one or more very low stats and basically said play those stats out or get pimp slapped!

Disclaimer: This is personal opinion and conjecture based in table-top definitions of statistics.

From the PHB: Intelligence determines how well your character learns and reasons.

With an Intelligence of 6, you'll have difficulty communicating in your native language, let alone a different one. You likely won't recognize a language by its sound unless you see the race to which the language belongs speak it. You'll have basic survival skills. The simplest jokes will go over your head. Cause and effect might be a foreign concept to you. For example, Trolls eat, sleep, fight, and reproduce. It's a simple life.

Wisdom describes a character's willpower, common sense, perception, and intuition.

You won't be easily talked into doing things you don't want to do, however you'll have a distinct inability to argue why. You'll know that when it rains, you should find cover to stay dry, but as to why it rains, that could be a mystery to you. You'll be perceptive, able to focus and all that stuff, and you'll understand when people mean you kindness or harm.

Charisma measure a character's force of personality, persuasiveness, personal magnetism, ability to lead, and physical attractiveness.

With a 6, your character isn't socially redeemable around most races. I'd see your character as antisocial, a wallflower, avoidant of authority and decision-making roles, and physically displeasing.

Your stats, to me, create a character that is incapable of healthy, rewarding interaction with most of society but perceptive enough to understand that people don't like her and would rather not have her company. A sad place to be in.

Dalon Arogard: It's this. *busts a move*
              Llew Hy: A strange compulsion...
Mirumoto Akagi: I suppose you can dance if you like, but you're leaving our friends behind, and they're not dancing.
Dalon Arogard: Then they're no friends of mine.
