"So the paralysis portion and the sneak attack portion only trigger when a target is not in combat? I could have sworn it was exactly like a rogue's sneak attack, only with the paralysis on an attack from stealth being different.
"At 1st level, the assassin can make a special sneak attack called a Death Attack. This functions exactly like rogue's sneak attack ability, except that the attack has a chance of paralyzing the target. The assassin's Death Attack inflicts an extra 1d6 points of damage. This bonus rises to +2d6 at 3rd level, +3d6 at 5th level, +4d6 at 7th level and +5d6 at 9th level."" - From eklu65

"It will only try to Paralyze the victim if they aren't in combat yes, but it should also apply the Sneak Attack damage under the normal circumstances even if a full Death Attack isn't possible. Whether it does or not I don't know, but either way it wouldn't display the message if you don't have Sneak Attack already. You'd just have to count the damage you're dealing..." - From Countless
So, Is this completely broken? Going to get fixed? Or what?
I made an Bard/Assasin, no rogue levels. I have yet to see any damage or messages about sneak attacks or death attacks. I do see the fortitude checks.
Are the NWN2 Devs at least planing to fix this so we get an indication of getting Death Attacks, like the nice Sneak Attack messages.
Or does the Assasin Death Attack not grant damage if one does not have Rogue Levels?
Kind of feeling screwed as I play on a PW and it took me a week of play to get my first Assassin level and it seems completely broke.
I guess, I'll try and go fight goblins bare handed to see if I can do more than 1-3+2 damage.
