Witcher Demo

I've already beat the game... No one needs tell you it's awesomeness, so try the demo if you haven't.

If you own a computer and play video games it's your duty to at least try this thing out.

Great game, I think it is one of the few adultish type of 'game for adults' in a long while.

Hope more CRPG for adults are going to be produced, GTA line of mindless 'adult' brain blasting games is a sad excuse for adult type gamage....

Hmm, just been nosing around The Witcher website, looks interesting. What does the combat play like? Is it anything like that game Severance from a few years back?

Would be nice to get an adult game that actually allows female players. As interesting as Witcher looks and as good as I've heard it is, I have no reason to try it because of it being male-only.

The Witcher is a good game and is proof of what you can get out of the old Neverwinter Nights AURORA Engine that BioWare pumped out six years ago. The story is engaging, the combat is unique and the world is an interesting and mature environment that deals with numerous 'hot' topics - such as racism, pollution, etc.

My only problems with it are threefold, however:
1) The first hour of the game is boring as shit and can turn off new players.
2) A lot of English voiceacting is utter shithouse and many characters were probably voiced by CD Projekt interns - or the guy who did the outro for the Neverwinter Nights 2 official campaign [Holy crap that was awful].
3) Load times that can have you going to make a coffee, shower, do the day's grocery shopping and then come back just in time for the game to stutter into life. Coupled with the amount of area transitioning required it can make the game painful to run through - this is probably the sole thing that is stopping me from playing the game right now.

Despite these downsides, it is actually a very well-done and gritty mature roleplaying game that can really begins to drag you into the story around the end of Chapter One/beginning of Chapter Two. The Witcher is worth a look at, and definately worth the money spent on it.

I'll have to try the demo, as everyone and there brother has been saying it's awesome.

It is too bad about not being able to make your own character, but at least that means the story should be really solid.

I bought the game online and was very pleased with everything except the load times. HOLY SHIZZLE were the load times completely awful. Granted, I don't think my computer meets the recommended requirements.

I'm hoping the next patch will fix that problem. But there was one load time where i literally went to cook dinner and it was still not done loading by the time my food was ready. And I'm a big tubby.
