I think my fave pratchett is probably Night Watch. It's so awesome to get to see how Vimes started out...Fifth Elephant is excellent too, in my opinion. Also, Night Watch has to win the best cover competition, at least with the edition I got...it's got a Discworld-ised version of Rembrandt's famous Night Watch painting on it :P

The Conclave of Shadows was a fine read
Yup, theres some discussion about it in dragonmount.com the 12th book, he left some scripts on it, and apparently his cousin and wife or whatever will try to get it finished.

Brandon Sanderson is going to finish Wheel of Time - A Memory of Light is the 12th book, and will be the last (yes, it is going to be like 2000 pages long!!). RJ left a lot of notes, recordings, and told the entire plot of the last book to his close familiy before he died (he also already wrote some of the book).
Like Sammael said, books 1 to 5 are awsome... then 11 is the next good one (but is still nowhere near as good as 1 to 5!). Still, can't wait for 12, just to see what happens!

Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series is not like the Wheel of Time. First of all there's only four books so far, and, though some of them are long, a lot happens in them. The third book is so good it really blew me away.
I liked Neverwhere much better than American Gods. The concept of American Gods was cool and parts of it were really good, but other parts of it were really boring and seemed very self-indulgent to me.
Sourcery is my favorite of the Pratchett books, its probly not a great one to jump into the series with though. Night Watch is a really good one as well and that's one that you could jump in with. There's always at least one really cool idea in each of the disc world books.
Good Omens, by Pratchett and Gaiman, is pretty good too.
Edit: Oh, and I liked Salvatore for a while, but I got tired of his stuff eventually.
