    Great movie or the greatest movie?

    YES SPOILERS SO DONT LOOK IF YOU DONT WANNA KNOW





    Cmpairing it to the poem/book/what have you, I thought it was well done. Especially seeing it in 3d I MAX. Almost frightening how close they can make the annimations to real people. One thing I wish is they would have showed clearly what Grendles mother looked like. From what little they showed seemed like a fish women? The ending between her and Wiglaf was amuzeing in that "Soo uh whats gonna happen?" way but ended like that lol. Anyways, was VERY good and defently worth seeing it.

    Oh, and the part where he says Saulus sig was badass, crushing off Grendles arm with the door

    Not seen it yet, looking forward to it... I did watch another film a few weeks ago on DVD called 'Beowulf and Grendel' which I thought was pretty good- lower budget, bleak, moody, shot a bit like Polanski's Macbeth, I think its another interesting take on the poem and worth a look.

      Okay, that movie ruined the myth for me. It wasa good movie, as far asa movie goes, but as close to the poem, after fighting Grendil, was WAYYYYY off the chart there.
      SPOILER!


      1. Grendil gets his arm RIPPED off and BEATEN to death with.
      2. Beowulf beheads Grendils mother. (Sorry Angelina jo Lee)
      3. The dragon he fights, beowulf claims hes gonig to kill it alone, hes with 4 other guys. Thery help in killing it, but Beowulf strikes the killing blow. But he dies, because since its an epic poem, when you say your gonig to do somdething, your going to do something or die. No where in between. (In the movie, it was a drake too, not even a dragon. What sets dragons and drakes apart is the fact that dragons actually have arms AND winds, not just winded arms.

        Whee, i finished watching the movie. I really liked it, but meh. A bit confused. I wish i saw it in 3D, stupid yahoo movies didnt say if anything was 3D or not. I just got the 2D.

        Why the hell did the king jump off the balcony????

          So beowulf could become the king right then and there. He was free of his curse, it passed now to Beuwulf so hes happy to end his saddening life.

            I liked it, it had everything I expected in a good viking tale. Anthony Hopkins was awesome, Rey Whetstone was great, and Angelina Jolee is perfect as a demoness.
            The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.
