I've found the 8800 GT on Tiger Direct at 365.99 $ while apparently the same card on Newegg sells at 269.99 $ (but ships in US only, urg). Know other online companies who ships hardware? Think there isn't gonna be much better than the TD deal in Canada?

Thanks for all the help you've given man...

You sure your not comparing the 256 to the 512mb? Plus, newegg is american (even though our dollar is stronger right now, it doesn't always reflect.)

Also the brand has alot to do with the price, as does the overclocking on it, that link is for the super clocked version, more expensive. So make sure you compare same clock speeds.

          www.ncix.com and www.directcanada.com, both good.
          Try these:

          http://www.directcanada.com/products...nufacture=ASUS
          http://www.directcanada.com/products...anufacture=BFG
          http://www.directcanada.com/products...anufacture=BFG

          or:
          http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...nufacture=eVGA
          http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...nufacture=ASUS
          http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...nufacture=eVGA

Note, the price differences for the different clock speeds.

That tiger direct one does seem a bit pricey? Maybe because its bundled with a game?

Depends if your willing to spend that extra 20 for that little bit more power.

Watch out for the BFG line. I've had one of these suckers run melting hot on me already. Load temp of 92 degrees

Other than that, GT seems to be the go. We paired two at school and ran it against my GTX. I got owned. Bigtime.

No problem, feel free to rep me! *Wink*

By the way, my recommendation is this: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=26823
Quality brand and the highest clock available for a reasonable price, and your only looking at a 20-30 extra bucks. Although its not available to mid November so depends if you can wait. If not, the other slightly lower clock speeds are more then sufficient. (I have a tendency to always want the highest clocked of the board i can get)

I'd be interested to know which you get and how it goes.

Interesting about the BFG, I've never really had a problem with them, and they usually get good reviews as a good brand. I wonder if it was a faulty board?

And the 8800 does seem to be an sli dream come true, I wish I'd bought a sli motherboard so I could pair em up.

I went for the ASUS GeForce 8800GT 600MHZ 512MB 1.8GHZ from Direct Canada, mainly because first ASUS offers a 3-year warranty as opposed to many others, and second there -was- at least one left in stock and had a quick 1-2 day delivery to my province (so with a bit of luck I might even have it tomorrow for the week-end). I'd really love to inaugurate the card with, perhaps, Bioshock, as I saw a bit of what it was like on a powerful PC and was like "woopty-friggin-doo!".

They sent some kind of weird confirmation method by email which, as soon as I clicked the link in the message, made my phone ring and had to note a verification code pronounced in an automated message, to "accelerate the delivery" according to the message. Funny, a first for me though I'm not new to e-buying.

I'll let you know how cool it is, or if the card's box arrived crushed into pieces, or if somehow my computer asplodes. Thanks again!

According to the order tracking of the website, everything's checked about my order and it just needs to be shipped. Since the friday work hours are over I guess I can expect to have it monday evening. Can't wait!

I figured out the problem with the BFG one... It accidentally ran the OC profile from the GTX card, which upped it by 10 percent, even though the card was factory OC'ed. It still ran, though :P

Oh, and best of luck with the card. Hope it exceeds your expectations, lucky git

If it didn't ship friday, i doubt you'll get it monday evening. I don't think they work weekends. Could be wrong though.

At least you know you can always OC it some more Rhazeal. :P

As of wednesday evening, I still didn't have the Mighty Box of Brilliance +5. I'm crossing my fingers for today or tomorrow... before next week-end anyway. Once I receive it, I think I'll have a go at Hellgate: London to quench my zombie-slicing needs with some RL friends who already got it...

Hellgate London was a letdown for me... found it like all the other MMO's out there *SNORE*.

And I have to pay monthly to get any real benefits in the game? Pass.

Bah, I'm viewing it as a Diablo 3, not some MMORPG. And no, I probably won't pay them a penny unless, like NWN2, they fix up their stuff over time and it gets much better. Sometimes a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. And sometimes that's whacking zombies. ^_^

Keep in mind "shipped" sometimes means its in the "outbox" to be taken to the post office, not necessarily delivered to the post office yet (or whatever delivery service they use).
