Okay, so I'm kind of lazy and what not, but I realized that I'm still running the 93.71 drivers for my vid card. I've downloaded the latest 163.71 drivers but have not yet installed them. Or are there any issues with them that anyone knows of? I saw some unhappiness with the 162 drivers, but it seems like, from the BW forums, that these issues have been resolved with the 163.71 release.

Anyone have any problems with the 163.71 drivers? If so, what are you using or would you recommend instead, in terms of older driver?

    Thanks.

Get the latest betas, I've had no problems.

Thanks for the replies. Since I have a 6800 card, your point about the 93.xx drivers being just fine is well taken. I know how to roll drivers back, so I may give the 163.xx a whirl and see if I get any improvement. If not, or if it actually causes issues, I can then roll back if need be.

I've considered upgrading the card as well, which I may investigate.

Anyway, thanks again for the thoughts.

Well, I got a 8600 GT, installed the new drivers and everything is working great. I didn't want to dump a whole lot into the desktop, since I'm trying to save for a good laptop. Thanks for the info and advice. I can actually turn on some shadows now without the game slowing to a crawl.
