On the contrary; making useless comments (or, in this case, a demand) such as "GIEF ME REP" is easily counted as spam.

This goes for all forum-goers: think through your posts before you click the 'submit' button; if your post does not add anything useful to the thread, do not post it.

Sorry but why would reposting printed material give someone 'rep'? The way I look at it I would only give that to people who have convincing or origional ideas and arguments, not someone who can cut and paste information that truthfully anyone who was interested could look up on their own.

I know that lots of gamers love the 'history' stuff from the Forgotten Realms, and use it as canon for their games, I appreciate the amount of effort those people have made to keep it updated, but frankly; I never, ever, use it.

We (the players and DM's) are the ones who make this PW's history. We are the ones who are roleplaying here, and our interpretations of the game should be the ones that hold the most weight, not someone who isn't part of the game.

Sorry to hijack, but I just am getting tired of seeing every PW become home to 'canon' nazi's.

If i may say so, i post what ever contents i post on the right threads, and for those interested, if you are not interested simply don't read. besides when i spoke about the rep thing was because i saw that little of it was beeing used for example on the RP thread where good stories so forth could be rewarded with rep.

Anyways cheers, not everyone knows where to look up information, or it's not that easy, this way people have info on what i have, posted on Off Topic, just for those interested, and to be used by those that have drows or want to know more about them, in a easy way. Hell i'd liek to know a bit more about other races myself. Aasimars are a complete mysterie for me.

I'll have to say, I didn't know much about FR canon until I've been forced to research stuff for the playerbase to let me run events. Trust me, it's a daunting task to take 6 months and force feed yourself an entire world Sure, I knew concepts and ideas because I played D&D based games, Pen & Paper, and other stuff, but not nearly to the level other people did.

Honestly, I wish more people would break away from hardcore canon, but at the same time, you can't expect people to join a FR server and not expect it to behave like FR setting would. It's a balance that has to be maintained. We have some liberties in defining a history, yes, but other things are sort of set in stone. Bane hates Cyric, Torm hates Bane, Time of Troubles occurred, Drow became traitors, Waterdeep is a gigantic City, etc etc.
