A brand new piece of matter has been recently forged and verified in Germany through extended international efforts. An isotope of element 97 (berkelium-249) and element 20 (calcium) have been smashed together in accelerators and finally revealed as a completely new element.
Some have suggested to IUPAC (the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry) to name this new element Feynmanium in honor of the late physicist Richard Feynmann. An excellent suggestion, in my opinion.
