  • Suggestions for a new mouse

I've had it with my wireless mouse - It has decided to eternally jam together the wheel/third button when I need the option of pivoting the camera in difficult situations, leading me to either die and/or log as I loose all control of my character.

Can anyone suggest a new mouse, suited for playing nwn2 and specificially managing the camera? Or maybe just a mouse that's possible to take apart and clean yourself - That would sure help a bunch.

Do NOT get a logitec M705. I have the same problem though i was able to solve it for a short while by remapping the middle click to the thumb button.. but the key assignment driver causes my system to freeze so. yeah not a great mouse and the speed scroll wheel sucks balls in any situation where you want control. (only good for blazing through scroll text on a web page)

Personally I love my Corsair M95, you can unscrew and clean it yourself and I use it to control the camera angles with all the additional mouse buttons etc etc.

Drop the money on a RAT7. I hate wireless mice and you will know why the first time one dies in the middle of a session.

The main reasons I like it is that it has all the bells and whistles, it's solid (aluminum base), everything is also adjustable so you can find the right fit for your hand.

They run you about $100 bucks but if you want something that's going to last a few years and take some abuse, look no further...

I actually have a logitech myself and it's served me fine untill now, though I suspect the rubber band in the mouse wheel have been a shit installation to begin with, as it easily comes off.

The Rat7 is really wicked, but a bit off my price range, but the rat3 seems reasonable. Is the Rat easily to clean?

No more worse than any other mouse, it does have a lot of open exposed areas that are hard to get to without dis assembly -- but that part is fairly easy.

I went and got me a R.A.T.3 - really good for the money involved. I decided I didn't want the weights. The mouse wheel is a blessing!

I just got the R.A.T. 7 because of this thread and it was on sale at Best Buy for about $70. Been putting it through the paces and if I can just figure out what I want to program on that little thumb wheel I think I will be in business. I like the weights...I feel like I could kill an intruder with this mouse.
I can't slow down, I can't hold back though you know I wish I could. No there ain't no rest for the wicked until we close our eyes for good!
