    http://guildberkeley.wordpress.com/tag/warpriest/

Anyone checked out this upcoming Pathfinder advanced class guide? I was curious as to what they did with warpriest -- the fact that none exist on the server kind of speaks to how lame the PrC is.

(Am at work and can't look at it)

I have a Warpriest, but he has become really lame since the upgrade to fighter went in. I still enjoy playing him though.

Also at work but they have a pretty lax internet policy. I'll DL it and post stuff if no one beats me to it.

      Warpriest:

Alignment: Must be within 1 step of deity

      Hit die: d8

Bunch o' class skills, mostly what you'd think and a couple odd ones like Survival.

      Skill Ranks/Level: 2 + int mod

Proficiencies: Simple/Martial weapons, All armor, all shields except tower.

Spells: Can cast from the cleric spell list, Spell Levels 1-6. Progression much like a NWN2 bard, prepared casters not spontaneous (like a bard). Based on Wisdom.

Blessings: These are kind of like domains, you get two based on your deity and they give you an ability at level 1 and level 10.

Weapon Focus free at 1st level.

Sacred Weapon: Any time a warpriest wields a weapon in which he has Focus, he counts his Warpriest level as his BAB for attacks made with that weapon, stacking with any BAB from other classes. In addition, a sacred weapon's damage is based on the warpriest's level and not the weapon type.

      1-4: 1d6
      5-9: 1d8
      10-14: 1d10
      15-19: 2d6
      20: 2d8

At 4th level, a warpriest can imbue a sacred weapon with Enchancement Bonus or one of a bunch of weapon buffs like flaming, keen, shock, disruption, holy, etc, to a total effective enhancement of +1 per 5 levels. He can do this for up to his level in rounds/day.*

*If the weapon has enchancement already, it cannot take the weapon above +5 total enhancement.

      Spontaneous Conversion: As per cleric.

Fervor: At 2nd level a warpriest gains uses of fervor equal to his Warpriest level/2, + his charisma mod.

Fervor can be used by a goodly/neutral cleric to heal/harm undead, and an evil cleric (or neutral with an evil god) to harm/heal undead. Damage done/healed is equal to 1d6 for every 3 levels above 2nd, to a max of 7d6 at 20.

A use of fervor can also be expended to cast any spell the Warpriest has prepared as a swift action, but only on himself, even if it would effect multiple targets normally. Spells cast like this ignore somatic components and do not provoke attacks of opp.

Bonus Feats: At 3rd level and every 3 after, the warpriest gets a bonus feat from the "Combat Feats" list.

Channel Energy: As per cleric, obtained at 4th level. Amount healed/done is equal to what would be done by Fervor. DC is charisma-based, consumes 2 uses of Fervor to use.

Sacred Armor: At 7th level, the warpriest can add enhancement to his armor, to a maximum of +5 at 20th level. (See Sacred weapon above, same stuff only armor enchancements).

Aspect of War: At 20th level the warpriest can channel an aspect of war. For 1 minute the warpriest treats his level as his BAB, gains DR 10/-, and can move at normal speed regardless of armor worn. In addition, during this minute any Blessing used (see above) does not count against the daily limit.

Oh man, the new shaman (aka spirit shaman) is really cool.

Who do I have to bribe to implement this?

And an example Blessing or two:

            Air Blessing:

Zephyr's Gift (Minor blessing): At 1st level, as a standard action you can touch any one ranged weapon to imbue it with the quality of air. For 1 minute, this weapon takes no penalty due to range, in addition using this weapon doesn't provoke attacks of opportunity in melee.

Soaring Assault (major blessing): At 10th level as a standard action, you can touch an ally to give them the power of flight for 1 minute (As per Fly spell). Any successful charge attack done during this period does electricity damage equal to your level.

            Evil Blessing:***

Unholy Strike (minor blessing): At 1st level, as a standard action you can touch one melee weapon to give it an evil blessing. For 1 minute, this weapon glows a sinister color and deals an extra 1d6 vs. good creatures. Does not stack with Unholy Weapon.

Battle Companion (major blessing): At 10th level, as a standard action you can summon a battle companion. This functions as Summon Monster IV, with a duration of 1 minute, but can only summon an evil outsider or an animal with the fiendish template. At every 2 levels beyond 10th, the level of the Summon Monster spell increases by 1, to a max of Summon Monster IX at 20th level.

*** Good, Evil, Lawful, and Chaotic blessing are all the same. Substitute weapon damage/glow for what makes sense for each, as well as the limitations on Summoning.

And yes, it's a base class.

DERP. The values I posted for sacred weapon damage are for large warpriests. WILL FIX.

And, finally, the spells/day list. I'll give spells/day at 1/10/20 to give comparisons.

                At 1: 0s: 3 1s: 1

                At 10: 0s: 5 1s: 5 2s: 4 3s: 3 4s: 1

20: 5 spells of every level.

Basically they're NWN2 bards with cleric spells, it's roughly the same progression.

Only they're not spontaneous casters like Bards, they prepare their spells. God this is a bizarre class.

Yeah np. It's a cool class, though nothing like the NWN2 warpriest at all.

As a thought though, maybe give Warpriest PRC half or 3/4 spellcasting progression, high BAB, and the weapon focus thing, as in in, they add their class level to all attack rolls, then give it bonus divine damage based on level, and then a neat capstone ability.

Yeah something like that would be neat. I think the Pathfinder base class could definitely be used as inspiration for a nifty PrC.

All of these classes are nice, some very powerful ones. I wouldn't mind at all if the warpriest got some love.
