  • GOG sale on DnD games!

That's right, folks! GOG is having a sale on all its DnD titles. Want to buy a spare copy of NWN2 for $5? Want to buy ten (mostly) classic titles for under $30? It's possible!

Demon Stone and Dragonshard really, really aren't worth it. Unless you're extremely into hack and slash and weird RTS hybrids, respectively.

Though as a historical note Dragonshard's the only DnD game set in Eberron that's not DnD Online. So there is that.

The Temple of Elemental Evil is one of my favs. Is Dragonshard any good? Looks a bit funky.

Dragonshard is an RTS/RPG hybrid. Think Warcraft 3, kind of. It's.. Weird. You don't gain resources by mining/harvesting, but by going underground into dungeony things and killing neutrals. Also there's no real base 'building', just claiming pre-existing buildings.

It's not an amazing RTS. It's not an amazing RPG. It's a weird mix of both that won't work out for a lot of people. Really didn't for me, but I didn't play much of it. Maybe something clicks after the first mission or two? I don't know.

ToEE remains the most faithful reproduction of 3rd edition rules to this date in a video game. Shame the chosen module is hilariously grindy and lacks much in the way of RP-opportunities and story.

Oh. Torment! Never played it but I've heard it's rather spiffy.

If you mean Planescape: Torment, it's one of the better fantasy RPGs I've ever played.

I tried replaying it about a year ago, though, and the graphics cause physical pain. It's like trying to replay the original Deus Ex. If you can stomach the visuals, it's an awesome game with a great story.

Everytime somebody mentions they've not played Planescape: Torment, a tiefling with an Irish accent dies.
