My Hang up is this ... Should I grab 2x Nvidia GFX 670 2gig and SLI it up for 750ish or should I 1x Nvidia GFX 670 4gig for 500? Not exactly sure what the difference is, however I think its like this. The 2x 670 will give me over all better performance via less choke points, but the 670 4gig would certainly look sexier on a larger monitor.

Always, without question Single GPU > SLi. Why?
Simple reason, SLi requires profiles in order to work correctly. Yes you can make your own, but the question is how much do you want to screw with your system just to make it work at 100% performance.
If you like playing games when they come out, chances are you will run into games that have no SLi profile on launch, basically gimping you to 50% performance.
Once you get beyond 2GB, video memory on a card really means almost nothing. Unless you are running a res of 2560 x 1600, but even then 2GB should be more than enough to run even the most demanding games at Ultra texture resolutions.
I personally have a 680 and couldn't be happier with it, of course the 780 is right around the corner but it might be a few months before it's pricetag comes down to the sanity range (500-700 bucks). At the very least if you wait til it's released the 680 price will drop quick.
In short: buy the most powerful single GPU you can afford. The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

I had the same toss up between the Nvidia GX2 (dual card) and the Radeon X1900XTX. So I built both.
I gave the dual card setup to my best mate (he paid me). Single cards are always better imoOriginally posted by roguethreeIf I had my way, clerics would have spell failure and a d6 hit die. And Favored Souls wouldn't exist.

Haha, right on, I actually just got a STEAL on a notebook, so I decided to go with that over a new desktop. I got a Clevo P370EM Notebook with Intel i7 - 3740QM / NVIDIA GTX 680M with 4GB of GDDR5 (They don't make them with lower GB at 680M) with 16GB (4x4) DDR3 @ 1600 MHZ. I know the 1600 MHZ isn't a big difference from 1333 but its a nice little bonus. Got it all for $ 1700 total. Sometimes it really helps to call the company direct!
Edit: It also has a 750GB Seagate Momentus XT 7200 RPM SATA600 Hybrid Hard Drive w/ 8GB SSD Caching"Service to a cause greater than yourself is the utmost honor you can achieve."
