  • Left 4 dead

Heya! I need some advice. I have an Xbox 360, so lets forget about anything that isn't related to that for this discussion... any other console isn't going to be in the picture... likely ever .

My wife wants to get a Zombie game... She's heard about Left 4 Dead, but what I want to know is how button mashy it is (she's not all that coordinated when it comes to button mashing games - I'm not all that much better but the extent of my abilities probably was Mass Effect 1).

Any advice would be welcome... a story line that is interesting is probably what's going to keep things going (after the lack of button mashing ).

    Thanks!

Becky Dragonhin - Sword of the Loyal Fury, Knight of the Triad... the only Good hin in Sundren???

Perry Turnipfodder - aspiring talent, happy chronicler.

I'd say it would probably be better to find her a different game. It's not really button mashy, but it's a first person shooter. And from personal experience, you don't really play 1 and 2 for the story, you play it for the option to play it with friends and stuff and kill zombies.

Edit: I am not sure if it is on any of the consoles, but I heard good things about The Walking Dead game.

The Left 4 Dead series isn't exactly an award-winning storyline. However, being that it's made by Valve it can be expected to have award-winning characters, and in this retrospect it succeeds immensely. In both games, the dialogue between the group is just pure hilarity mixed together with a big batch of awesome. The action is intense and very well done. It's not.. really easy though so unless your wife has some talent in FPS games, I say move on...

If you're looking for something with a good storyline altogether though, then The Walking Dead Game is what I recommend. It is either currently out for the Xbox or will be very soon. Bear in mind though that the game is a point-and-click game... a point and click with teeth, but a point and click nonetheless. This means the emphasis is put more into the excellent story rather than action. The action consists of just pressing buttons at certain times. It's pretty easy... even if you DO have to keep your guard up a little.

It's an excellent story though and it dosen't require knowledge of either the comic book or television series (surprisingly the better of the two imo) to play since it's story is set in the same world, but seperate.
