  • D&D movie in SyFy

Probably going to be horrible, like all the D&D movies, but I'm still gonna watch the Book of Vile Darkness

Can't even watch the trailer on SyFy because I'm not in the States. Laughable. "No not our precious content!"
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

        I expected worse, honestly.

Years ago I had the misfortune of watching the 2000 D&D film in the cinema (I'm sure a lot of us made that mistake, wincing at all the wands of dragon control).

The two things that stand out for me as most terrible were the reactions of some members of the audience.

Towards the end of the film most of the cinema was having a good laugh at the terri-bad action and utter shambles of production, some poor chap at the back obviously felt this was unfair as he stood up and yelled as loudly as he could "Stop Laughing! This is a serious film!"

The lowest point came in the toilets afterwards (oo er missus) a multitude of geeks lined up at the urinals, one muttered "I can't believe how bad that film was."

"I know" replied another "Seriously, a wizard using a sword?"

Edit: Shuddering duck that looks dire. It looks like it makes productions from The Asylum look professional.

Well, it could have been worse . . . maybe. At least there was a hot half-elf assassin wizard chick running around half-naked. The story wandered around for 2 hours then just ended abruptly. My favorite part was the undead child . . . super creepy.
