Me qnd the boys from my work went in on a wireless internet hub threw one of the local providers (works off cell tower), and completely off the grid so IT cannot track it. Might want to look into something similar.

There is wireless there, but it is crappy. Plus you can't just bring in a wireless router. They have to be set up a certain way or they can interefere with the machines. Someone did it in the other department where I originally worked at, and they were casting multen aluminum. Someone brought in a router, and it ended up getting the same IP as something else, and the furnace started to tilt. Luckily someone saw it, and hit an E-stop... Then comes problem number 2. I hate labtops. I prefer a desktop due to upgradability. I just wish they had a smartphone app to play lol. even if combat would be difficult to do, on nights like last night, i coulda got 12 hours of RP in

Man I can't tell you how many times I've bitchslapped users for putting a DHCP server on my network.

"Hey I'll just plug this router in! What could happen?"

Don't make me rant about mobile devices and a lack of connectivity.

"No sir, when we say turn electronic devices off, we mean OFF. Not Standby, not close the cover of your ipad, not put back in your pocket. But actual off. No sir, what you did there was just tap the button at the top, that's not off now is it? No, that's just powered the screen off."

"Off course your laptop is an electronic device sir. So is your mobile phone. Really? You want to argue about it? Tell you what, you give me the batteries and if it keeps on running without them you can carry on using it."

Seriously, can't people go four fucking minutes without staring at their devices? I hate SLF some days.

Uh.. On topic, get a cheapish laptop and a good mobile device with unlimited net access, then hop on via that.

The day a plane crashes from an ipod playing music is the day people actually give a shit about turning electronic devices off lol.

              Sad but true.

It's probably not going to actually cause problems, but considering by the time the crew are checking people the pax will have been told about 4 times to turn off devices for take off/landing. At that stage anyone caught playing Angry Birds or whatever deserves all the sarcasm they get.

Mind you, it's not the crew you've got to worry about. I've seen a few pax get really lairy over other people using devices and our airline had an Incident a few months ago where a rather one sided fight broke out over a phone used during take off.
