Royally sucked!

So i'm a big Tenacious D fan and I decided to check out there new movie. I purchased the DVD for 27 bucks and was really looking forward to it. I heard from some people who never really like TD that it wasnt funny, but I figured they were just lame.

Boy...

They were right. This movie licked so bad! What a dissapointment! I laughed once the entire movie.

Uhg.. I just had to rant about this. Damn Jack Black... messed this one up bad.

I never liked Tenacious D. Jack Black can be funny sometimes, but in reality him and Kyle Grass or whatever his buddy's name is are just two overweight, middle-aged frat boys.

I saw it with my wife in the theaters and we both left sayin "meh"

The soundtrack is good, but is basically the movie narrated from start to finish.

Also, I actually like the (edited) version of the album better than the (explicit) version. i'm no prude, but "the government would butter-cup his righteous A" is a way more creative and cool line than the explicit version. Same with a lot of the lyrics on the album.

Unlike Zoolander and Anchorman, this will NOT be a stupid comedy that I own on DVD.

Jack black is a god. Simply put. Every movie I have seen him in, I laugh my ass off. In the romantic comdey the Holiday.

But the movie you are talking about, yes.. It sucks. The trailers were so cool, I was like I MUST SEE T----.. Wow, that sucks.

I like Tenacious D alot. That was just bad though.. they reused alot of old stuff, and they didnt even have very many catchy songs in this movie. I think I only laughed at Dio singing to the boy at the beginning. And maybe the Master Exploder.

Master Exploder is both the best song on in the movie, and the part I LOLed at.

Maybe I was just in a strange mood, but I couldn't stop laughing during this movie. My BF kept playing certain parts over and over and over. We even had to take a break once to regain control over ourselves, because we were making too much noise while our kid was sleeping!

I dunno, my BF's in a band. I think that had a lot to do with how much we enjoyed the movie. I'm pretty sure we were both imagining him getting his hands on the PoD.

I enjoyed PoD, bought it and have the CD. I've been looking for tabs for the songs and my girlfriend and I sing them often when we need a laugh. The movie wasn't meant to be Citizen Kane (they even joke about that), but a movie about friendship with a lot of drugs and rock and roll thrown in. As with everything by the D you have to take it with a huge grain of salt. Since I don't partake of the chronic, and in fact, dislike the stuff, I still enjoy drug culture movies that are funny, and this one was funny.

The D's earlier TV shows and specials were the blueprint for this movie, and again, not everyone enjoyed thier show. Sometimes I even cringed with dismay and felt uncomfortable when they pushed the envelope, but heck thats thier brand of comedy.

Only two films he's been good in, I think, are School of Rock, and King Kong.

Never seen the Pick of Destiny. It didn't really interest me much.
